They're still trying to do too much, and it's obvious that they're apprehensive in all 3 zones. Guys are overcommitting in the d zone, flying the neutral zone, and trying to do too much in the offensive zone. The layers that Quinn wants them to defend with are nonexistent and no one wants to shoot the puck. Quinn keeps screaming north-south, but they keep playing east-west. It's just a terrible look starting with Quinn all the way down to the 4th line.

It’s one thing to be a bad team and lose, but to play like this 3 games in a row? Getting outshot by a wide margin be increasingly weaker opponents? Can’t even get though the NZ. Maybe one scoring chance that period. No sustained zone pressures. Just pitiful.

I think we are getting a taste of this line up post TDL, since Hayes is out and other players may be gone. Not looking good.

On the other hand, trades will bring in players who will be hungry and most likely smarter than the shit we have now. Can't get much worse than this.

Gorton to Quinn: "I told you to f***ing showcase Smith, not bench him!"
Quinn: "I put him where he looks best"

It's because Staal was already behind the net, and Pionk was chasing as well leaving someone wide open in front.

Lindy Ruff is a goddamn disaster at running the defense, and should have never been brought back.

The players are also really stupid for not knowing basic defensive structure either.

No. If Pionk just continues skating and takes a hit instead of spinning away, then even if he loses the puck it's at the left corner and not right at Hank's right doorstep. Pionk will never take a hit to make a play.

It's super cool to be condescending about the best player on the team who's given everything to the organization for the past 14 years, not to mention a future hall of Famer, and one of the top 3 players ever in an organization over 90 years old.

But keep up with those great jokes my man.
I do it to amuse myself. Why is that such a problem for you?

Anyways, I never said I didn’t like Henrik. I love him. He’s done his best for us. And he even decided to stay with the organization that couldn’t put a good team around him. That’s loyalty. He’s one of the best players to ever put on a Rangers jersey.

However, is he an All Star right now? Probably not. But that doesn’t take away from his tremendous career.

Rangers are 5-8-5 since then, and are at the bottom in CF, SCF and HDCF. Worst team in the league since Thanksgiving.
I'm using the entire season so far as a sample size. The Rangers will not end up with the worst record in hockey this season. I would be shocked if they end up bottom 3 albeit this is the year we really need to end up bottom 4/5 at the worst!!!

On the other hand, trades will bring in players who will be hungry and most likely smarter than the **** we have now. Can't get much worse than this.

That;s true, but it all depends of course what the return is. Could only be picks.

This team is just so bereft of talent.

I really hope we manage to acquire/draft/develop some game breaking talent in the next couple of seasons.

When was the last time we had a Calder winner? Leetch?
When was the last time we had a serious Calder finalist even?
