but yeah strome as a 3C behind Zibanejad and someone else good would be solid

he could probably drop 45-50 in a sheltered role.

i think he’s turning himself into a solid trade piece for next trade deadline

Good point. 2 of 3 best forwards on Tampa are not first round picks. We just sucked so hard at drafting for so long we are way behind and need to rebuild but not necessarily tank. 1 elite player is big but you can get one later. Kucherov is proof.
Brayden Point is a 3rd rounder.

Just for memory’s sake, Brian Leetch was drafted 10OA.

What's everyone's beverage of choice tonight?

I'm currently drinking a.........
Boulevardier
1.5 oz Four Roses Bourbon
1 oz Carpano Antica
1oz Campari

Stir w/ ice
Garnish w/ orange peel

Tampa has two players that were drafted 1 and 2 overall respectively.

That Uncle Larry column was horrendous. Like the Post asked him why his web browser was on hockeydb.com and he had to justify it somehow.

Completely worthless.

Remember people bugging out because we picked Krav over him

Good times
pffft I remember how stupid they were when they passed on Kirill Kabanov. Never has so much angst been spilled on a 3rd round pick with 'first round upside'. Draft experts? FOH.

Gorton on the radio right now: happy with Quinn, he’s been “terrific”, they wanted a demanding and teaching coach, said the kids have had ups and downs this season and it’s normal for young players in the league, liked DeAngelo’s improvement, will look at character free agents who can help with the youth but will pursue all options, liked the development of the 3 recent first rounders, compared Nils to Stralman, trying to get Kravtsov here for next season, said they’re trying to bring Shestyorkin over for next year as well and compared his career to Hank’s at the same age.

 Classic.

Remember when we had him in camp a few years back? Good times.

Edit: Said “good times” twice in a row. I felt the need to acknowledge this

Doesn’t change my point that they’re not dominating without Kucherov and Point. 2 of their 3 best forwards and later picks.

Vice versa is also true.
The point is they all work together. Take away Stamkos and Hedman and that team isn’t even nearly as good as without it, and they wouldn’t be winning anything.

So the bottom line is we need to tank but don’t need to tank. It just depends on everything. ;)

You need both. Teams that win have the high picks and the ability to find gems in the later rounds. One doesn’t work without the other.

Stamkos was drafted like a decade ago. His draft position is irrelevant to where Tampa is now.

It’s like claiming Washington’s “tank” in 2004 directly led to their Cup in 2018.

That was a smart play by Lias on Bergeron. He saw the pass coming before Bergeron did and lifted Bergeron’s stick so the pass went to him instead

You mean the tank that got them the Conn Smythe winner? Do you really believe that crap when you say it? How do you type it with a straight face.
