It's less about propping their value but about having patience with the kids, and giving a chance for those vets to find their game. Whether people agree or not, we won't pay to dump them, and we won't bury them in Laval, at least not after 8 games.
As a coach who's been through every role in the game, MSL knows better than to bury someone too early. He's trying to get them going, and players appreciate that. It's the culture they want, meaning trying to help each other and believing in one another.
As much as we'd like to see those guys gone, there is no rush.
A) we're not trying to win games at all cost
B) we're not paying anyone to take them
C) development also means patience and not overwhelming kids with responsibility
D) those guys will be gone by trade deadline or by the end of the year at the latest, so the kids waiting in Laval can come in at that point (and might be so much more ready)
