The Playoff Push, Tanking and Scoreboard Watching Thread

Against Utah, we find a way or make our own. Fk the Zebras, fk everyone, this is the Blues, This Is Our Way!
The problem with that is the Zebra's have been saying FU too.

And we're due for another screw job(the Seattle game was pretty evenly called).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Kings need just two points in their next two games to clinch that 2nd spot and home ice in the first round. Even if the Oilers (who will be on zero rest) were to beat the Kings in regulation, a win against Seattle (probable), wins them the #2 seed in the Pacific bracket. The Kings hold the RW tie breaker.

Also, the Blues winning in OT/SO could create an interesting situation where the Flames would need to win both of their games in regulation. That could mean the Flames may have to pull their goalie in a tie game because going to OT in either game means they're eliminated.

Bought tickets to the game on Tuesday.

I already know that by the end of the night I’ll either be on an extreme high, or at risk of being banned on all social media platforms.
I'll be there too. Bought tickets a month ago without having any idea that it would be such an important game. I was just hoping to get a look at our prospects which I figured would be getting ice time by then.

What is Holloway's status and projected timeline for return?

It's been real hush/hush from Blues PR. There was a report from Freidman when it first happened that it wasn't the news the Blues wanted. That being said, there has been no mention of a surgery being needed so we're just in a wait and see.

I remember watching the game in 2009 when they clinched the playoffs after an incredible second half(and how electric the building was) and I swore I’d be there if they did the same thing this year. Really hoping we get that excitement in a few days.

Joked with my dad a couple weeks ago that somehow our season was going to come down to our last game against Utah, who has typically owned us. Things sure do have a funny way of playing out.

Welp, Utah ends this season with 4 games in 6 days, including back-to-back with Nashville and then us. Hopefully they are worn out and looking for the season to end. Seems like they are all healthy, although, they've been riding the same goalie since February. Got to find a way.
We should buy them complimentary golf packages that need to be redeemed immediately.

Does Army owe the mob money or something?

The Blues don't deserve to be in the playoffs if they can't beat a team that's out of contention in their final game of the season to secure a playoff spot. It's that simple.

Philly plays Buffalo last game of the season, if Pens lose vs Caps that could be huge.

A lot can happen Tuesday! The situation with Calgary is pretty simple:
Blues need 2 points to get in, Blues gaining or Flames missing out. However if Calgary wins out in regulation and the Blues win in OT, Calgary will hold the tiebreaker (which is why it says “maybe 3” under the Magic Number).

Wild hold all tiebreakers.

The Blues earned some leeway with their winning streak. But they’ve pretty much used it up. Beat Utah and end the drama.

It is a bit annoying that tonight is a 6 game night around the NHL but none of them are games that directly impact our playoff race.

I will be rooting for Edmonton over LA tonight though. An LA win would clinch home ice advantage for them in round 1. Until they clinch, I'm rooting for all the outcomes that could potentially increase what LA still has to play for when they meet Calgary Thursday.

I guess I'll also be rooting for Utah/Nashville to go into a shootout to maximize the fatigue factor for Utah tomorrow.

Slight correction. If blues win in overtime and if wild win or lose in overtime. If wild were to lose in regulation, calgary could still pass them by winning out as wild would have 1 less point than blues and calgary

McDavid out for the Oilers tonight which all but guarantees the Kings win and will have nothing to play for against the Flames.

Hopefully there's some bad blood between the Flames and the Golden Knights/Kings that would motivate them to send Calgary packing.

And Utah is starting their backup tonight.
