The Playoff Push, Tanking and Scoreboard Watching Thread

I'd love to see Snuggy finally get a goal. He's been REALLY close. He's playing way better than I expected. And Bolduc seems to have settled in. This young group is going to be good next season.

If we make the playoffs we will probably have at least a few days to hopefully work him into some team skates. Our last game is Tuesday and the NHL season closes on Thursday. My guess is the first round begins this coming Saturday. So again assuming we make it we could have 3-4 days off. Even if things progress quickly I see him missing the first few games of round 1.

LA up 3-0 on Edmonton right now. Looks like they’ll clinch home ice tonight.

I think this is the year they finally beat the Oilers in the playoffs. Edmonton is just too beat up. They’ll get some guys back for game 1 but a lot of those guys aren’t going to be 100% and Ekholm won’t be playing in round 1 at all.

I’m so glad our coaches and players view the situation going into game 82 as a positive, an opportunity in contrast to the doom mongering we see from some fans. Great moments are born from great opportunities.

Apologies for the Blackhawks and Chelsea Dagger, but it the scene is perfect for tomorrow. (That song doesn’t bug me as much the last couple years because Chicago sucks.)

I think he’ll play in game 1. Guys seem to miraculously get better faster when they get a chance for playoff hockey.

I agree, and I could see the Kings winning the West. They're playing some excellent hockey right now.

It's never easy being a Blues fan.

For those of us dependent on NHL Center Ice - the game is on tape delay at 11 p.m. Ouch.

Let's Go Blues!

If your Vegas, who do you want as your first round matchup? The Blues, Wild or Flames?
Tough question.

Blues are backing in but they have a goaltender that can steal a series and have shown that they can win games even when they get outplayed.

Wild have not been good at all in the second half but having Kaprisov and Eriksson Ek changes the game. Gustavsson is a wild card in net.

Flames are the least talented of the bunch but bring it for 60 minutes. Wolf is a wild card as a rookie but he's shown he can steal games this season.

If I'm Vegas, I probably choose the Flames. I don't think they have the high-end talent to compete in a 7-game series, work ethic be damned.

Rooting for a Blues regulation win of course, but also rooting for a Wild regulation loss. I’d rather face the Knights instead of the Jets, and the Pacific seems weaker overall compared to the Central.

And I hope the Flames lose as well. I think the Wild have a better chance of at least taking the Jets to 6 or 7 games, where the Flames I don’t think have the talent to take it more than like 5 games. And the playoffs are more fun with Kaprizov in them.

Not to mention chemistry. A lot of those lines they will be putting out in game 1 are lines that havent been seen in months
As they havent been able to play with each other as someone is always been out and they had to shuffle lines around

They looked pretty shaky last night. The score is not a reflection of the game, that was a 4-3 game until about 5 mins left.

Blues need to play their best game of the season tonight

Looks like they’re going to use the winning streak lineup with Snuggerud as the Holloway replacement and the full defense.

Should be a great game.

For what it's worth, Utah has 3 wins and 6 loses in back to back games during this season.
Close. They're 4-7 in B2Bs.

Here's a trend I've followed for the past few seasons for betting purposes that leans heavily in the Blues favor tonight:

NHL favorites on 2 days rest playing against divisional opponents on zero rest are 26-4 since the beginning of last season, winning by an average margin of 3.60 to 2.13. This season they're 15-1, winning by an average margin of 3.69 to 1.75.
