The Playoff Push, Tanking and Scoreboard Watching Thread

The Oilers are icing a barely-NHL caliber roster...the Blues need to take care of business.
Draisaitl - out. McDavid - out. Nugent-Hopkins - Out. Jeff Skinner - Out. Mattias Ekholm - out. Trent Frederic - out. John Klingberg - out.

Lets get this train back on the tracks and shut down the Bakersfield Condors tonight.
Correction. Its goalie stuart skinner that is out. Not forward jeff skinner

Jeff Skinner being out is probably addition by subtraction for the Oilers tho. He's terrible.

I’m happy with Celebrini. I know lots of folks here still hate the Sharks, but I don’t.

His first NHL goal was against the Blues and it was a flubber. Opening night.

I’m on team sharks.

I went to our games in San Fran during our cup year and everybody there treated me so well. Was wearing full blues stuff ofc and they were like hugging me and such, random sharks fans congrats on the win at the end, etc. Opposite of going to Chicago. I had my seats absolutely -filled- with trash and trash thrown at me last time I was in Chicago in blues gear.

Also cracked me up when you go outside to smoke at the sharks games: if it’s tobacco you’re smoking you’re like the only one making that choice. 600 joints light up at intermission and everybody is happy no matter the score. (This is only a mild exaggeration)

Love this. I am on Team Sharks all the way.

I loved going to Wrigley when the Cardinals visited (I lived in Chicago for 26 sumpn years) and getting trash thrown at me the whole game. They’re rude af, but that was part of the experience cuz I’m obnoxious af at Cards-Cubs games. I am that guy. I hate the Cubs.

I received a few cheap shot posts from some of you after the loss to the Jets for being worried about this team losing its gas.

How's everyone feeling now that we lost to an injured Edmonton team?

Making the playoffs is getting harder and harder.

I call them as I see them. This team is out of gas. Others are now seeing it. I still hope we make it to the playoffs, but the shine is off.

About the same as I feel after most Blues losses that are heavily impacted by a call or noncall late. Better than I'd feel if I were a Calgary fan and just watched my team piss away a 3-1 lead (and a standings point) in the last 4 minutes against the Ducks. Every night the Flames fail to gain 2 points on us is a decent night.

We still have a 93% chance of playoffs and I'd be more than thrilled to make an even money bet with you that the Blues make the playoffs. Want to continue your victory lap by getting some money on the board that says this team is done?

Where did I say the team is "done"?

And it's not a victory lap, but push back on some folks who got personal from what was a simple statement that I was worried about this team after the loss to the Jets. Sometimes you just need to push back.

Our magic number is 3 and we have games against Seattle and Utah coming (who are already eliminated and might like a better position at the draft) while Calgary still has to play the Wild, Vegas, the Sharks and the Kings. Can Calgary still catch us? Sure... is it likely? Not really.
