Utah 4-2 EN goal
big night for Blues, deserved 0 pts and got 2. Calgary loses and gets 0.
Im not sure why the blues deserved 0. We played tough defense and vastly outshot the redwings the whole game. I dont think we dominated despite the shot total, but i thought both teams playedngood defense and got great goaltending. Talbot let in a stoppable goal at the endnofnthe 3rd but also was making great saves throughout the game.Utah 4-2 EN goal

Agreed, the Blues were the better team and SHOULD have won. In the end, it was an exciting comeback win. Fun to watch.Im not sure why the blues deserved 0. Yeah, similar to the Rangers with Lundqvist. The only way they advanced in the playoffs was when Lundqvist was able to play like he did in the regular season or better. Hellebuyck has definitely been hit or miss in the playoffs, and that's also likely highlighted that the team in front of him isn't as good as they are in the standings because he's the one driving their success, so he has to continue to drive the success in the playoffs.I'm consistently impressed at the disconnect between JFresh's underlying data and his actual takes.
The Jets are the worst example in the league for a team that cares what expected goal differential says. Potentially one of the worst examples ever. This is a metric that completely removes their best player from the equation. Their team is built around Helly being the best in the world at preventing teams from actually reaching their expected goals. And he is really, really good at doing that.
"If you ignore the goalies, the Jets should be worried." Cool. Good take my guy.
Well that's the thing right? Glass cannons are still cannons - they are going to absolutely kill you if you can't get to them first and prevent them from setting fire. There's also something to be said about their team chemistry and quality of depth. I think their 4th line is whatever, 3rd line statistically is playing decently, but if you look at their numbers in totality, they are struggling. Colton is about where he was last year, Coyle is made little impact on the scoresheet for Colorado, and Kiviranta is shooting at 20% when his career shooting% is 11. I think that their 3rd line is not bad, but comparing it statistically to the Blues is either a wash or worse than ours in my opinion. Of the forwards I'm actually scared to go up against, it's Mackinnon, Necas, Nelson, and Nichushkin, the rest are good players but they are not necessarily "better" than ours. They have a formidable 1st pair, but outside of that I think their defense is just fine on paper. And then their goaltending is unproven in the postseason which isn't necessarily a slight on Blackwood, but it is what it is.A problem is that they’re a big glass cannon, and Makar is a Norris finalist that will be on the ice close to half the game.
Necas is 6’3, nikuchken is 6’4, Coyle is 6’3, Nathan MacKinnon plays like he’s 6’4, (only 6 foot but really), Brock Nelson is 6’4
I think they have some obvious holes but then they’re so exceptional in some ways, including a bit of a home team benefit of training at altitude. They’re as good as it gets if the game is decided by the best 5 vs the best 5.
Really hard for me to pick any other team as my paper cup favorite. Dallas would be with heiskenen and maybe if a few of their guys were a tad younger or older. The jets would be if they didn’t blow my bracket up last year. (I’m petty).
They are terrible. Painful team to watch. No idea how they can be this bad. Rangers won in ot, so we are tied with wild.Rangers are useless. Outshooting the wild 12-2 and losing 1-0
I hope they stay ahead of us. I want ZERO part of Vegas in the 1st round. They are a cup finalist IMHO and Dallas might be the only team I see with a chance at beating them.
Dallas has a very real chance of catching WPG for C1 (31% according to moneypuck). If that happens, who’s your preference then?!?I hope they stay ahead of us. I want ZERO part of Vegas in the 1st round. They are a cup finalist IMHO and Dallas might be the only team I see with a chance at beating them.
Adin hill scares me far less than helly. Helly had a couple rough postseasons but had good postseason stats before that and is one of the best goalies in the league capable of dominating an opponent. Adin hill is just a average to slightly above average guy whose team took him to a cup. He can be beatI hope they stay ahead of us. I want ZERO part of Vegas in the 1st round. They are a cup finalist IMHO and Dallas might be the only team I see with a chance at beating them.
True competitors don't dodge opponents. They run over whoever they face. That has to be the mentality.I hope they stay ahead of us. I want ZERO part of Vegas in the 1st round. They are a cup finalist IMHO and Dallas might be the only team I see with a chance at beating them.
