Any new QB you'd draft is going to be made backup level caliber as well because this team can't develop a QB prospect for shit.

They're not losing this game 17-3 because they have Pickett and Trubisky in at QB. They're losing this game because their coaching staff is a joke and is getting out-coached by an awful team.
I think our coaching staff is ass but it doesn't matter how good your coaching is, a shit QB is a shit QB. Today's NFL revolves around the QB. Having Kenny as the starting QB is only prolonging finding the true successor to Ben.

And drafting a new guy right now will just result in this team ruining him, because this team can't develop a QB for shit. It would be like what Urban Meyer did to Trevor Lawrence.

If you want to get a new QB, you go out and get an established guy that Tomlin can't ruin. Or at least go get a guy that you can't just keep blaming the QB for Tomlin ruining.

well it gives our dee a rest. and another chance for our coaches to make adjustments.
You mean like how they had an hour long halftime to make adjustments but had to waste a timeout on their second offensive play?

Bottom line is Kenny is a 2nd-3rd round or late 1st round talent. Most of those don't work out. Not sure why our null hypothesis is that he himself is working out.

Having said that, getting a QB this offseason will either involve spending $30M of cap or using our 1st and 2nd round picks on the guy. We clearly need another OL and CB. Might be better to just let it ride with Kenny again and see if he gets to Carr-level.

Should trade for someone and draft a QB to "groom".

They already tried that with Trubisky and Pickett and it blew up in their faces. Why would they try it again 2 years later?

Face it, this team doesn't know how to develop a QB. I'm totally good with them looking for a QB upgrade, but it has to be an established guy. Asking this team to develop a QB is like asking a drug addict to stay sober.

You're not going to get an established QB capable of winning with this team. For one, you are going to be paying out the ass for one. It will be a QB that has already gotten paid or will command a new big contract. I haven't looked at their salary cap so I can't say if they could do that or not. The other thing is this team isn't a QB away from contending, so it will be a waste.

Hindsight is 20/20 but the year Ben hurt his elbow they shouldn't have traded for Minkah. They would have been much better off keeping the first, tanking, and getting one of Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, or Jalen Hurts. This team would be in a much better place had that happened. But this franchise doesn't think like that and is only concerned about winning the next game, with no regard to the long term future.

Steelers will never be in a position to grab a Burrow, Stroud type franchise guy.

They will have to develop one with warts that falls in the draft like Harbaugh did with LJ.

So far Tomlin has shown he has not a f***ing clue how to develop a young QB, and anyone who doesn’t think AR2 stepped in with Canada is naive as hell.

Speaking of veteran QBs:

I would have been all aboard signing Carr after Ben retired, but he's apparently super washed up at this point.
