I ****ing despise Suggs. I loathe him more than any NFL player in the league. It's going to be a tough game. There always seems to be injuries coming out of that game. Gilbert has played better but Dumervil has owned him this season.

And not legal injuries but trying to injure players, especially Roethlisberger. I blame the league as much for it for almost never penalizing a late hit on him, even if it breaks his nose.

I just am back from the game, playoff atmosphere and crowd. Barely any Cincy fans, which surprised me.

As for the fake punt. Classic Tomlin. It is his Disco blind spot. He gambles when he should not and loses nine times out of ten. AND NEVER LEARNS FROM IT.

One would think after what happened this summer the NFL wouldn't let the Ravens try to get away with stuff like that. Being that Goodell tried to cover-up Rice knocking his wife out, one could easily see that there's a perception the NFL tries to help the Ravens out.

I cannot believe this Steelers team won the division. I didn't think they were a playoff team or even a team that would have a winning record after watching them the first half of the season but they got it together somehow. Hats off to them.

I kind of expect Bell to try to play next week. I just have my doubts he'll be that effective. It's not so much the run game. Baltimore always shuts that down anyway. It's what Bell does as a receiver and pass blocker that we'll really miss if he can't go or isn't 100%. Not to mention the fact he never fumbles. He became just the 3rd player in NFL history to gain 2000+ yards from scrimmage without a single fumble this year. The other two were Barry Sanders and Marshall Faulk. Pretty good company. He also had an amazing stat earlier in the year when he joined Walter Payton as the only two players in NFL history to gain 200+ yards from scrimmage in 3 straight games. The kid is elite. Hopefully he's good to go next Saturday.

I hope that the Steelers use a pass heavy offense next week designed to let Ben get the ball out quick if Bell is not ready to go. Baltimore is probably going to blitz the **** out of us with that strong front 7.

I will be shocked if Bell plays next week. First word is hyperextension. Nothing will be known for certain until the swelling goes down and the MRI results are completed.

Haley needs to incorporate Harris and Archer into his playbook because I seriously doubt after seeing that hit that Bell should play. In fact, I would prefer they sit him. No reason to sacrifice the kids future for one playoff game.

Yeah, you don't hear the trade Roth Yinzer cry anymore. Been saying it for awhile, but dude has a good 5-6 years left, so you ride it out as long as possible and build around him. What a season he just put together.

This season played out exactly as I had hoped, and while I still don't trust Tomlin and the overall coaching, they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. So I've never seen a reason to root agt them to lose.

I still can't shake the feeling their secondary will be their undoing, but I just think Blake, McCain, Allen and especially Gay deserve huge props. I say this knowing they will most likely cost them a playoff game, but these guys have battled all season.

Gay is a guy I used to despise, but he has been their best corner all season. After finding out about his story (dad killing his mom), this summer, I've been really pulling for him.

This secondary is like the island of misfit toys, but they made big plays and did about as well as we could have possibly hoped for.

Any news on Bell?

From ESPN two hours ago:

'Coach Mike Tomlin said after the Steelers finished 11-5 and secured the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs that Bell hyperextended his knee and did not appear to suffer a serious injury. Bell was one of the last people out of the Steelers locker room, and he had his right knee wrapped in ice and walked slowly to a cart that took him to the players' parking lot at Heinz Field.

Bell did not have a brace on his injured knee or walk with the aid of crutches, though it is too early to tell whether the Steelers' 2014 MVP will be able to play Saturday night when the Baltimore Ravens visit Heinz Field for an AFC wild-card game.

"We'll gather more significant information as we proceed through the week," Tomlin said. "We're thankful that it's not anything major."'

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...rs-unlikely-return-game-taking-hit-right-knee

You know that they are not going to say a word beyond that between now and Saturday night.

Put him on the field Saturday and you can damn well bet the Ratbirds will be targeting that knee. Its not like its a secret LBI that no one know exactly where and whats injured.

Kind of like our own Adrian Peterson in the making.

Probably. They have to wait till the swelling goes down before they can do the MRI for damage. That alone means they won't know anything concrete until late Tuesday early Wednesday most likely. I'll be genuinely surprised if he plays Saturday.

I think they can beat the Ravens without Bell; I hope they don't put him out there if he's susceptible to doing more significant damage.

All in all, a great season that exceeded my expectations, record wise. I thought the O-line would be a strength and it has been. And it's no surprise that that made Ben better. The easy schedule helped, and next year will be a different story (NFC west + NE and Denver, among others). D has come on a bit more than I expected, but I still dread playing Denver or NE, although Payton has come down to earth a bit.

Not to be a downer, but if we'd beaten TB, the Jets, or NO, I'm pretty sure we'd be off this week.

How awesome has Beachum been this season? I think we all are kind of mum on his performances this season as if he's going to turn into a pumpkin at midnight, but what an absolute steal of a pick and tremendous player he turned out to be.

Yeah, I've heard a number of smart football people talk about what a technician he is becoming at LT. He needs to be since he's still the smallest LT in the league but he's done a hell of a job. Credit to him and to Munchack for coaching him up.

I can't see the Steelers winning this week without Bell, hes just such a big loss in the running and passing game.

I wonder if the Steelers would look at bringing in Tate this week.

The knee must not have swelled up much since they already completed the MRI, thats a good sign. The hyperextension to his knee still significantly makes it susceptible to further injury especially against a team that will intentionally target that area.

The Ravens truly aren't that good. The key to beating us is clear and simple, beat us through the air. Flacco is a mediocre QB. I'm not worried even if Bell can't go. If they didn't rally in the 4th, they would've lost to a Browns team being led by future franchise superstar Connor Shaw.

In other football news: Gedion Zelalem is officially a U.S. citizen.

He's just 17 and we've seen what happened with Freddy Adu, but Zelalem could be the next big soccer figure in the country. He was born in Germany, spent his formative years in the US, plays in England, and is eligible for Ethiopia as well (Zelalem isn't exactly a German name), and played for German's youth teams until doing so would jeopardize his eligibility elsewhere. Upon receiving American citizenship he intends to commit to the U.S., and Klinsmann would have to be an idiot not to lock that down as soon as possible.

Now if only he didn't play for ****ing Arsenal.

zelalem news is very exciting. he's been in a much better environment than adu for development, gooner hate notwithstanding. he's just another 17 year old startlet in the prem instead of a 14 year old savior in earlyish 00s mls
