Troy Polamalu and Ike Taylor Doubtful for Sunday. Spaeth Questionable. All others Probable, expected to play (including Gilbert/Harrison).

There was a day when the Steelers defense would really be in trouble if Troy didn't play. Now, it feels like he's been sort of a non-factor either way. He isn't totally washed up like Ike, but he's just not the dynamic player he used to be.

Ike not playing is good news though. That guy is DONE.

I agree on both accounts. I was hoping that Polamalu's second half of the season play from last year would carry over but so far he's been ordinary at best. Not a detriment like Taylor but not the exciting playmaker he was once. With Mitchell not coming close to living up the contract he signed the safety play has been disappointing this season.

I was just told Pat Narduzzi Pitt's top target right now.

^ Interesting. Narduzzi is regarded as one of the elite defensive coordinators in the country. He turned down the UCONN football head coaching job last year.

Hiring Narduzzi would probably be the best thing short-term. Pitt already has a good offense and Narduzzi can likely improve the defense. Seems like a good combination.

Did anyone catch Madden's interview with Wannstedt today? He pretty much said everything went downhill with the football program after Pederson was hired. He also advised Nordenberg not to hire him, which obviously went ignored.

Two sacks on that opening drive. The Chiefs have given up the 8th most sacks in the league.

KC is in desperation mode. A fake FG attempt and going for it on 4 and inches, all in the first half.

Can't believe fat boy didn't go for the FG instead of trying to get the 1st down. Kick for the three especially when you have the ball coming out in the second half. Big momentum killer there.

The fake field goal I liked, not taking the points there I don't...but I'll sure as hell take it.

I should get used to seeing stuff like that, though...my Montana Grizzlies hired a coach who's notorious for treating 4th & <5 as an offensive down...but with halftime <30 seconds away you take the points.

The fake FG was brilliant. They obviously saw the Steelers coverage and exploited it. Its not taking the points before HT I would have crucified Tomlin for. For the record, I hate that Tomlin plays for the FG.
