People got more upset and there was more media coverage of signing Vick. If anything the media helped downplay Bens off field issues at the time.
Seemed as if he had more than a single negative trait, coupled with multiple “observations”.
Regarding the devout family guy comment - have you not fallen for your own Halo Effect here?!?

The definition you posted of the Horns effect focused on “traits”. Traits and incidents are two different things. Ben had several bad (personality/psychological) traits - including the one(s) that made him both self-centered and unempathetic enough to sexually assault multiple people. There were two incidents that we know of because they were made public, and we don’t know how many other incidents (of varying degrees of magnitude) may have occurred. The probability that there were only 2 incidents, and both of those incidents became highly publicized, seems unlikely to me.I'm not understanding the "more than a single negative trait" comment? He had 2 allegations, neither which were substantiated. After that we heard nothing else about that kind of stuff.
And no, it's not a halo effect. I've acknowledged the bad off field stuff he was engaged in and don't cosign it.
Seems like others MUST take the opposite approach without any acknowledgement he was a good soldier after those incidents.
Meh, bringing it up within the same year feels fair game to me, especially since many of the incidents weren’t settled until some time later(he settled with one plaintiff). You’re acting like people still bring it up or something. Considering recent players behavior, Bens problems are a distant memory to the average yinzer. If sports media brings it up still, well I dont follow it so I dont know. This is either satire or you may be younger than me.
I'll remind you of Peter Kings article in SI about how Ben was such a horrible person DAYS before the 2010 SB.
This was about 10 months after the last incident.
The media (specifically Peter King)HATED Ben and fans are just perpetuating the stereotype
They’ll make him a #2 because Khan doesn’t understand you can have more than one legit WR.Gabe would be a good move. Solid run blocker, can play outside, deep threat. JAX cut him because he was redundant and an overpayment. Should be fine as a WR 3/4.
For our sake I hope CA3 or Wilson can develop into the WR2, but who knows. Realistically Muth is the 2nd option in the passing attack. They’ll make him a #2 because Khan doesn’t understand you can have more than one legit WR.
Based on last year, I'd say the team views CA3 as its WR2 (save, of course, for those offseason weeks when DK and GP were both on the roster). I disagree, but I'll feel a lot better if Davis is signed, that one of those three (or four if you count Muth) can be WR2 any given week. I don't think that's a way to run an NFL offense in 2025, but he we ae.For our sake I hope CA3 or Wilson can develop into the WR2, but who knows. I dispute the notion that he was a “good soldier “ after the incidents in question. He managed not to get named in another sexual assault accusation?! Congrats to him.

National writers bringing it up at the time was more steelers hate than anything else Id say.
Didn’t they cut him because of an acl?Gabe would be a good move. Solid run blocker, can play outside, deep threat. JAX cut him because he was redundant and an overpayment. Should be fine as a WR 3/4.
Davis would be a nice add to the WR room. Not anything that crazy but an actual WR threat.
They overhauled their WR/TE room. Saved some $ by cutting himDidn’t they cut him because of an acl?
Please continue moving the goalposts to take you to whatever (Pyrrhic) victory lap you desire. Makes no difference to me if you truly believe that you possess impeccable judgment while the rest of us have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt to form an opinion in your eyes.Hahahaha- so now we're diagnosing athletes' mental disorders? I thought that was against forum rules or something, Have you even met the guy ever?
And please provide the FACTUAL evidence that he engaged in SA's. You have circumstantial evidence, but no hard evidence. It's all conjecture and hearsay- no witnesses were involved.
Both DA's declined to prosecute based on...and here's the key point of my message: there literally was not enough evidence. No semen, no evidence that a SA even occurred via rape kit.
Apologies if this wasn't you, but I feel like everytime I post about Ben you come running to trash him. Could be another poster and if so, my bad.

And no, it is not me regarding the auto-response poster to Ben. But I’m as sure I’ve trashed him on here before as I am that you’ve defended him here before.
Gabe Davis, if healthy, is pretty firmly a WR2. He was the second leading receiver in Buffalo in 2022 and 2023 when the Bills had a top 6 scoring and 8 top passing offense. Question will be if he's healthy.
He is claypool with DJ like drops. He has never gotten 900 yards or 9 tds with Allen at QbGabe Davis, if healthy, is pretty firmly a WR2. He was the second leading receiver in Buffalo in 2022 and 2023 when the Bills had a top 6 scoring and 8 top passing offense. Question will be if he's healthy.
