Yeah, that would be a D draft…I don’t mind if they take Sanders at #21 but they really need to try to get another day 2 pick and the rest of the picks don’t really jive with who they brought in for top 30 visits
They had Sampson and Roberts in for Top 30s. Same with Shedeur. Bruener is Mark Bruener's kid, Mark is a scout for the Steelers. I'm sure they have met the kid and he is a 7th.
Not everyone you bring in for top 30 visits will be there when they pick. Phillips makes sense from a value perspective. Plus he is an ex wrestler. We know Tomlin has spies in an around Washington where he grew up, so a regional scout could give the info on him. Empoleon's analysis and suggestion of Pegues makes sense as well.
Dike is the one guy that stands out.
On Brugler's mock:
Harmon is gone but the next 4 after they take Sanders are very interesting, Grant, Will Johnson, Barron and Nolen are all still there. Obviously they didn't bring any of them in for a Top 30 visit, so it is hard to mock them. If I had to guess who they would choose, it would be Will Johnson because I can see Tomlin liking his swagger. If it was up to me, I'd take Barron.
Walking the rest of the mock, I would have rather seen them take Jacob Parrish(CB) at #83 and DJ Giddens(RB) at #123.

But they didn't have Parrish in for a Top 30 visit. Roberts at #156 is fine, though I fear he could be another Leal. He is light for a 3-4DE and heavy for an Edge. He does seem to have the demeanor, so maybe he could add a few lbs.
If they would rather go DL at #83, then Caldwell was available. Top 30 visit guy and he fills a need at NT.
