If they're going to insist on bringing in Rodgers, I hope that Tomlin would at least be able to keep him under control for a year until they kick him to the curb. Rodgers does seem to respect Tomlin a lot and probably won't be in a position to play GM here (or at least I'd really hope so), so maybe you can get him to at least shut the f*** up for a season.

It's just frustrating to see how this team operates. You know they're going to sign Rodgers, overdraft Dart with their round 1 pick and just think they'll be able to seamlessly slide Dart in as QB1 in 2026.
The only positive about Rogers is that he could actually get Tomlin fired. He would go scorched earth on National TV about how garbage the organization is when he looks like trash.

RIP. Rough couple of years for Pittsburgh broadcasting.

I think it stings more because it just seems like the next wave of broadcasters have very limited personality and talent, whereas Tunch, Wolf, Stan, and Lange were such impressive on air talents as well as being so active and well known in the local community.

Absolutely.

Guys like Myron, Lange, Wolfey, etc would never get hired in this day and age. Too PC culture.
Here's the the broadcasting weirdos...

The Jets definitely overpaid but once again Khan loses out when he tries to win negotiations. Now they're going to be screwed because of it.

Yeah 5 million per year is just an absurd amount to draw the line at for your preferred QB. Especially when you have the cap space the Steelers do.

Fair value in free agency is what the market provides. Khan doesn't seem to realize that, at least not when it comes to offense.

Hell at this point I honestly would take Daniel Jones over Rodgers or Wilson.

I don’t think anyone this year was going to be an “answer” at QB. It’s always been that we needed to draft one.

Just sign a guy to trot out this year and draft a project this season. Draft another one next season depending on where we finish.

I feel like Rodgers for a year is still better than Russ. I’d take either for a year, though.

Purely on paper, I think you can argue that Wilson or Rodgers wouldn't make a difference at QB. My issue with Rodgers is that he insists on meddling in team management and won't just be a QB. If you could somehow promise me that Rodgers would purely just play QB and not stir shit up, I'd be totally fine with bringing him in. I just don't see how you can look at Rodgers history and conclude he won't cause problems.

Lol what a weird random take. Half the pens broadcast team is just former players that are friends with people in the org.

There is wayyyyy more nepotism which is why broadcasters suck. Not PC culture. Broadcaster don't want to rub their friends the wrong way so they aren't critical of anything.

Also, a future HOF QB in Ben never speaks highly of Tomlin
But I'm sure these are all just coincidences.

My favorite quote from a show my wife and I just watched: "Somehow they're the victim AND the hero all at the same time"

I legit can’t stop laughing - Jets stole the Steelers girl and now the Steelers have to get the Jets sloppy seconds.

The Jets… the Urkel of the NFL.

Imagine the dumpster fire! A control freak OC with shitty plans, a HC afraid to throw over the middle, and a QB who’s beyond primadonna giant ego who won’t be allowed to audible… what could possibly go wrong?

It's nepotism PLUS PC culture. They can't criticize the team that pays them (or as you said their former friends/teammates).

Myron said some weird things in his time that likely would get him cancelled.

I agree with this. I just mostly want a guy that is likable.

Just sign a guy to trot out this year and draft a project this season. Draft another one next season depending on where we finish.
I could do without the project, though. If they sign Rodgers, just sign whatever other journeyman to be the backup. Too many needs to waste draft capitol on long shot QB prospects that they aren't capable of developing.

I would take Rudolph, Jones or Minshew or (fill in the blank) over Wilson or Rodgers…draft QB high next year

I still don't know what the issue is with Kyle Allen. He's your prototypical bridge QB. He can play handoff monkey and moonball it a few times a game while they punt on getting a real QB the following season

Hell to the no on Daniel Jones or Rodgers. Although Rodgers may get Tomlin fired, so put me down as a "maybe" for him hahaha

Yeah, it would be great if Tomlin was pulling the strings to get Rodgers here and it blows up in their faces enough that they fire Tomlin.

Does kind of seem like Khan trying to win the negotiation, though.

Sure he did but saying weird things doesn't make you a good broadcaster.

Point is its less PC culture and way more about nepotism and BFF's that ruin it. PC culture is low on the list. Like 2 people have been fired for things they said.
