The more guys I watch in this draft the more I think it's best to get back into 2-4 as many times as possible.

I feel like Kaleb Johnson is gonna get some hate for that 40 time, but I think he’s more and more becoming my hope for the Steelers if they draft a RB in round 2.

I think he will run a bit faster at his pro day, but he may even slide past round 2 with how some of these guys performed.

In my mind Judkins did the most for himself. To perform roughly on par with Henderson athletically at 20 pounds heavier was something I didn't expect.

I believe this is the first year they're publishing all this stuff. Just an absurd amount of information (including 40 time mph GPS speed, acceleration, 10 yard splits) and visualizations on all this stuff- for free.

As usual Ben exaggerated Haley and Art both let Ben and RW audible. If RW couldn’t audible why would he want to come back under the same oc. This same story came out in Seattle and in Denver.

I think Henderson's combine performance completely sold me on drafting him. I know they wouldn't double dip on RBs in this draft, but I'd love to see Henderson in round 2 and Tuten as a late round pick. Tuten's combine performance was monstrous and you can clearly see the raw athleticism he has.

I don’t see a ton of teams itching to trade up for the same reason you probably want to trade back. This is just a really weird draft class.

I'm not a huge fan of Darnold personally, but I think the Steelers signing him to a Geno Smith type of contract (3 years at $25 million a year or so) makes a lot of sense for what they'll do.

I think Darnold is going to cost whatever team that signs him a ton more than that.

More than that... I don't think the team wants maintained mediocrity. I think that's people projecting onto the team because they disagree with the team's moves. I think the team absolutely wants to go back to the big time and put their models as the Eagles and Ravens - good teams who stayed competitive and found their QBs well outside the top 10 - as the best route to do so.

They love this warm comfortable spot bc Rooney/Tomlin's philosophy is "you just need a ticket to the dance". And the people who actually live here on earth understand there is no way they are getting past the Chiefs/Bills/Ravens.

Going beyond mediocrity requires a risk that you are bad for a bit. I've outlined this numerous times that Tomlin won't tolerate it lest his precious NHALS becomes jeopardized.

Yes and no. They don't actually want mediocrity, but the way they manage the organization makes mediocrity likely. They simply value the floor more than the ceiling at every level of the organization.

And this franchise's actions tell me they are too risk averse to venture beyond mediocrity so they accept it bc seats are filled and Rooney gets to cash his fat TV rights check and Tomlin gets to sound smart in his press conferences.

I think there are players in this draft that teams will trade up for. There are some real freaks in this class in terms of their skills and ability and they extend for rounds. Just super weird prospects that need some work, but have talent. On top of that they can really go anywhere. I think boards will be so wild this year.

Does bringing in the likes of Mitch Trubinski and an old Russ Wilson scream to you that this team is serious about winning a playoff game?

Does the continued retention of positional coaches who have failed in their jobs, indicate to you that change is needed?

Does the underperformance of players who are drafted or imported in FA get mentioned (outside of the Steelers PR machine throwing certain players under the bus( in any of the end of year interviews by Tomlin/Rooney?

I don't know exactly what needs to be done, but I sure as shit know what I outlined above isn't working. There's no such self awareness in this organization. They think things are fine and dandy and that should frighten the fans.

Trubisky was brought in because they had just drafted Pickett in round 1 and Wilson was brought in because he was the best available option last off-season.

Feel free to be mad about how this team operates, but them making decisions you don't like doesn't mean they don't care about winning. They just make bad decisions.

Does a person who continually makes the same bad decisions of cheating on their spouse care about their marriage?

So I guess that's the crux of the issue: does this team even know when they've made a bad decision and take some self reflection or do they blow it off?
My suspicion is they blow it off because their egos are so f***ing huge.

Perhaps in retrospect and talking this out you maybe convinced me they care about winning, but they don't want to take the necessary hard work it takes (like self-scouting)

Buddy, as I said, I think they're stupid and delusional. You'll get no argument from me about there being plenty of evidence for that, with the strongest pieces being their complete lack of self-critique for their own mistakes.

I just think it's tied to ambition and desire rather than complacency and acceptance, that's all. Which doesn't mean a whole bunch, but I think that when it comes to QB, it means they're not going to pay a lot of money for a proven non-elite guy as that's the biggest acceptance move of all.

I don't think it's a scheme fit for the Steelers but the Eagles are releasing Darius Slay. Another good CB in free agency, might open up some opportunities to sign a lesser CB that will be getting less attention now.

Why don't you think he's a good fit for us? Poor tackler?
Outside of that, this team has been known to let it's CBs play man if they have the talent.

They should absolutely be in on Slay. They need another boundary corner
