That time of the year where kids running around in shorts outweighs the 12+ games of tape they have
This is a silly and emotional stance to take
Muth Ca3 and HighsmithName a player that has developed/improved over the past 5 years from his rookie season
Why? Cam has maybe 2 years left. You cut Larry O Lowry you sign a real guy to start . You draft cams replacement and Benton backup. They couldn’t function without Cam against bmore in the playoffs. Leal has no position Adams is cut able
Pickens, Warren, Darnell Washington, Nick HerbigMuth Ca3 and Highsmith
GP if he was healthy literally would have matched Terry in everything he did before Daniels showed up. Gp is putting up Moore numbers in Carolina
Sacks>Pressures but sacks are generally such a low event stat that I think it makes sense to value pressures as well. There's also the film vs. analytics conversation. Personally I think going and looking at how valuable those 39 pressures were this year would answer it the best but nobody got time for that. That's why I trust some of these more reputable draft guys.
I can't speak to the bolded part but these are the top 10 RAS for DE's since he's been tracking them. Just eyeballing it but it looks like a pretty decent hit rate.

Muth Ca3 and Highsmith
CA3 was drafted in 2022. Thus his missed rookie season was 2022. He has gotten better and was a decent receiver last season, especially over the middle. Austin had more TDs than Pickens.CA3- he barely played his true rookie season. It essentially was a redshirt- you even stated as much on here previously. This past season was his true rookie season
Muth - he's been consistent during his career. Outlier in 2023 due to injuries

Highsmith - let's see, yes you are correct that he really broke out his 3rd season. But the past 2 years he's been disappointing considering he gets a ton of 1 on 1 matchups due to TJ

So you got me on a technicality with Highsmith.
I'll be even more generous- how about the past 10 years?

This might be the dumbest post ever in this thread, which is saying something considering Jiggy posts in here a lot.Ok you're right.
But lets' be super gracious and say the 3 players listed improved from their rookie years. I don't agree with Muth or Highsmith, but I"m not going to be adamant about it
That's a whopping three (3) players in 5 years that have improved. I mean frankly that sucks and is a testament to this crappy ass coaching staff headed by none other than lazy "Najee should figure it out on his own" Tomlin.
Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe that stat. There's no way to justify it, full stop.

you do understand that Fields 2nd career 300 yards passing game came thanks in large part to GP right against the colts this season. My man, Moore literally played with Fields and had his best season.
Guess what team Fields plays on.
GP struggled when Fields played, however.
It certainly wasn’t Fields holding GP back when Fields had no problem helping Moore post career highs.
So either it’s GP issues or Tomlin’s offense.
I’ll go with both, as Moore is an insanely better route runner and Tomlin’s shitty O doesn’t develop any skill players.
No surprises, but this was probably the only other semi possible option for the Steelers.
Pickens, Warren, Darnell Washington, Nick Herbig
Sorry, I replied to the wrong post.
See above @Buddy Bizarre

We are now at the point we have to celebrate slight improvement of players or “hey Moore isn’t bad for a 4th round pick that’s given up the most sacks the last two years!”
What the f***? Ok..
That’s how low expectations have crumbled under Tomlin
Look at Tomlin’s first 7-8 years vs the last 10:
It’s almost comical the difference in impact players:
His first 8 years he pulled:
Woodley
Timmons
Wallace
AB
Pouncey
Gilbert
Decastro
Bell
Heyward
Shazier
Vs
Watt
That’s such a massive discrepancy that it points to a very disturbing degradation at either the scouting, drafting or development phase.
Cam is 35 will be 36 before the season starts. Larry had provided them absolutely nothing for 2 seasons and has a cap hit of 10 million dollars. If Heyward wants to, I don’t see why he couldn’t stick around as a rotational piece into his late 30s. And I don’t think they should cut Ogunjobi unless they desperately need the cap space. And it doesn’t seem like they will. He’d be an expensive rotational piece, but who cares?
Assuming the guy they sign is someone like Milton Williams you’re looking at:
Heyward
Benton
Williams
Ogunjobi
First Round Pick
Adams/Leal/Loudermilk
That’s completely fine. If they want to do it anyway, then it’s no big deal. But spending a day 2 pick on a guy who maybe 3 years from now is a rotational piece isn’t something I’m gonna pound the table for.
I thought everyone in the league wanted to play for our amazing coach and family-first franchise?
