I’ve already said I don’t give a left ball who is at QB. It won’t make a difference, especially with Tomlin.

Next season is another write off, but AR2 and Tomlin have this team trapped in purgatory protecting Tomlin’s worthless win streak.

Finish 9-8, 10-7, lose in the playoffs again. Never good enough to win a playoff game, never bad enough to draft a talented QB.

Just protect the streak at all costs - future be damned.

Rinse and repeat.

If you don’t think that’s the reality of things, you have been asleep the last 8 years.

Wilson, Fields broken down Rodgers, whomever they grab off the scrap heap isn’t getting them past Allen and Mahomes.

It’s time for reality - rebuild, trade off some vets, accrue draft capital, and move on from Tomlin.

Point is that when you have such a pop gun offense (because Tomlin runs it), you have to be able to threaten defenses at all levels. Teams guard the boundary in the passing game on us and it shows. The only way we made any headway on offense was when RW went off script and audibled and started throwing MOF. Well Tomlin was upset about scoring too many points so he reeled that shit in really quick

The eagles simply were stacked compared to everyone else this year. The defense dominated but the offense also was loaded with talent.

I'd slam my head into a desk if they used a 1st on a RB, even though I think Jeanty would be a significant upgrade on Harris.

Then again, if the goal is to build like the Eagles, shouldn't you try to get something as close to Barkley as possible? If this team is going to be a run focused team, getting the best possible RB you can get is probably not a bad strategy.

The Eagles winning with their kind of passing offense was a massive outlier in their first two playoff games:

However, their passing game opened up in the championship game and SB.

They also forced historical turnover numbers in the playoffs with 13 and had I believe only had 1 turnover.

Good luck ever repeating that again.

I think it would be a mistake to draft a RB before finishing up the OL (or drafting a QB for that matter), so that's why I was saying that I'd slam my head into a desk. I think building up the OL and DL is exactly what they need to be doing. That said, you will eventually need to get a top flight RB to effectively win with that style and I'm not sure how much more you need to invest in the OL before you're ready to justify getting that RB.

The big issue I have with taking a RB high this year is that it's going to be Harris/Pickett all over again if they'd take a RB this year and a QB next year. You'd want to give your QB time to develop, but you're already on the clock because you drafted a RB the year before and RBs have extremely short shelf lives.

They did see some growth in Frazier McCormick and said Fantuna was there best o line prospect since Pouncey. Meyer isn’t perfect but he is a nfl o line coach. The 2 biggest issues were combo blocking and keeping Jones engaged. Foster said Jones needs to be challenged like they did internally with Gilbert. He knows he is good a gets comfortable with just winning with athleticism like Chuks.

I'm torn myself, but I feel with the plethora of RBs in this draft and the fact that the team needs so many other key positions that they should take another position.

Just like you, I am very much in the don't draft running backs in the 1st round and I feel like I have to keep to my convictions on this and say that I do not approve. Per this mock, I would much rather see them take, Egbuka, Jackson, Golden, or Starks.

Jeremiah having Alexander at 26 is kinda crazy. Guy was a 3rd-5th rounder going into the Senior Bowl. If he is that good, then add him to the list before Jeanty. Same with Zabel. Both seem to be the darlings of the precombine all star bowls.

He also doesn't have Burden III, Harmon in there as well. Also potential picks at 21.

I feel like if Jeanty slides that far. You should be able to make a trade down and pick up some valuable picks as well.

The issue is a weak wr draft class especially if you want a high end outside receiver.
It’s seems like a DL Cb RB DL type of top 4 draft
I do wonder about Jeanty because he struggled against Penn State and they didn’t use him as pass catcher this season

See I don't entirely agree with this as the investment on OL has been recent and OL takes time. Prior to this year and getting a R1, R2, and R4, it was two decent to good FA guards - both of whom have been decent to good - a spoofer at C, and two mid-round OTs reinforced by a R1 on a very raw OT. I don't really expect that to be more than average. I don't expect more than they've got out of Frazier, McCormick and Anderson either, for 3 of the recent OL rookies. He can't be blamed for Fautanu's injury either leaving Jones as the one questionable recent OL rookie. 1 out of 5 isn't horrible.

I don't think Meyer is necessarily the right dude. His history doesn't fill me with faith. But I don't agree with the idea he's been provided with his chance to shine and hasn't taken it.

Jeanty is probably one of the few elite talents in the draft so from that point of view, I wouldn’t hate it. But it’s still tough to get behind a first round running back in a really good running back class.
