I can’t with McCord man lol. He improved a bit but that has to do with the quality of competition drop off from the Big Ten to ACC. McCord has an awful tendency of throwing off his back leg way too much. And this year he threw three pick 6 sixes (5 total picks) against Pitt of all teams. @ColePens would agree with me.

This years crop of qb’s is just truly awful as a whole.
McCord is the most vanilla. He is not good with decision making and stares down his receivers. Good teams read it and get INTs. NFL secondary are elite ball hawks. They will eat him up for lunch.

It's evident, honestly. And I think this is where these big programs are going to start to fall. They just let these guys do whatever they want so they stay there and play football, but they turn out horrible professionals. Going to college is about getting to the pros - if you're a f***-up of a kid and you don't want to get yourself straight, go to UGA.

With Army and Navy being successful this year, I almost want the service to make it more beneficial for better players be willing to go to service academies again. I'm just so tired of seeing the same teams every year, and these teams pump out nothing but immature, entitled babies.
The argument I would make is similar to @End of Line . The two in the finale were eyes focused on Jesus teams. It was an absolute breath of fresh air. Christ-athlete is really becoming a thing and it's making the players more relatable. I think fans are tuning out to the AB style. Just look at the SB... Swift is now getting booed and being cool is being head down in the Word of God and being mature.

I mean it's cyclical. It makes sense. We went like 20 years of just absolute immaturity. And yes.. i get that you want new teams. I'd still argue the playoffs DID include new teams. They just shit the bed. So it is coming. New teams will win.

Just glad he left for Syracuse. All I have to add to this.

I know we are basically the exact same age, but it does seem like we are in a crazy transitional period in history right now. It's palpable. I do find this stuff refreshing though. I also find refreshing reading some of these stories about how big time recruits funnel the money down through the team. If there was a kid who did that, I'd draft him immediately. We Over Me mentality - I take it every time.

Dude you hit the nail on the head. And being the same age I think it's so blatantly right in our face because we saw both ends of it. We grew up at the very end of the "sacrifice" era to know what our great grandparents did. Then the ME era was f***ing exhausting and we all fell into it in some way.

But yeah man... this is a wild moment in history. I'm really excited to see how this plays out in sports.

You adamantly insisted that he was a starting WR all last offseason. You're something else.

I said he was good enough to start for the rams in the Superbowl as a wr 2. That was with Kupp doing the heavy lifting. He is going to be on a nfl roster. He finished last season as our 4th targeted player
This is i am not surprised by Art wants a Qb who can audible at the line. RW still has the sb pedigree but he is washed

Like I've said a couple of times, I don't care which QB they bring back as long as they're cheap. If Wilson is re-signing for $10 million a year because he knows he has no other options, I'm completely good with bringing him back. They just need to bring in another WR option for him, Pickens alone is simply not enough.

I’m not a fan of Rodgers, and I’d be disappointed if we signed him, but if he agrees to the same kind of deal that Russ just got - vet minimum with “priority” in the pecking order, I’m fine with it. It gives Rodgers one last chance as a starter and if he fails it sets the Steelers up with a nice draft pick.

I would prefer signing Fields to a modest bridge contract, but the vibes just seem kinda weird like they don’t consider him their 1A option.

I suppose Russ could fit the same bucket as Rodgers, but it’s tough to envision a guy taking the vet minimum two years in a row. I don’t think Russ is the right direction at this point.

Rodgers isn’t taking a vet minimum deal. He doesn’t have any cash coming from the jets like RW did with the broncos. Rodgers was worse than RW going off the all 22
The reason why Art would want RW is the guy is a sb winning qb 13 year 10 time pro bowler. He is incapable of playing the way he did in Seattle and can’t play in structure.
Fields is probably a backup qb but he is better than Tribskey and he was going to start while kp watched

I'm as annoyed as the next guy at how much the NFL shows her on broadcasts, but what exactly does Taylor Swift have to do with the rest of your post?

Must have missed this the first time around.

You’re comparing the 01 team with 05 SB winning team?
You think there wasn’t major roster turnover in those 4 years?

The offense had 3 returning o line men from 01 on the 04 team. The same top 2 wr and te and rb
The defense did have Troy and hope and new lb

I would say my point is hollywood names/fame/me universe is going through a cycle of death. I think a better way to say it w/o exaggeration is that we are experiencing a change where the pendulum is swinging back to faith, family, love of country/neighbor. I think we are entering a really beautiful era and I love seeing it.

Also the discussion of Russ/Fields is like Jarry/Ned. Neither is going to win you a title but one is cheaper than the other and does just about the same thing. So honestly i don't give two shits who we sign.

Where else have you seen evidence of this sea change of human behavior?

Where else have you seen evidence of this sea change of human behavior?

Where else, other than the sports we are talking about? I'll give a few areas.

1) I think Christ-athlete is taking over. ND/OSU was between two teams who didn't even start their interviews with "oh it's the team". They all (both teams) said Jesus is Lord. Rocking Jesus Won shirts. What happened on campus as OSU in October is national news. Than you have CJ Stroud and look what happens when the Eagles won. Jesus.

2) Let's talk about movies. Disney is dying. Star Wars is dying. Marvel is dying. What is winning? The Chosen is on FIRE. Went from a YouTube freebie to a huge win. Top Gun 2 was probably one of the few movies EVERYONE loved. I can't recall a movie that just everyone loved. And movies like Sound of Freedom.

3) I mean I don't watch the content but i think the #1 content is Mr Beast? And primarily I hear about his videos when he's giving a ton of things away. History repeats itself as this country went through an era where giving was cooler than making money.

I just think when we look at athletes, we saw the 70s/80s was realllllllly all about the team and hard work. In that era we had the Jesus Revolution. 90s was a transitional period. 2000s/10s were truly the ME generation. Showing off on social media, flaunting ME ME ME, players like AB.

I think there is a borderline tangible shift going on right in front of our eyes. Like i can feel it.

You’re saying Troy was playing for the Steelers in 2001 ?? Is that what you’re going with ?

Why are you comparing the 04 team with 01. The 04 team didn’t win a title. Which was the topic at debate. The 05 team did
Sooo plax was gone and Bettis was a year older. His last year in the league in fact compared to being 29 years older in 01.

I would have thought you would take a view of the rosters when I posted that. So you wouldn’t look as foolish as you are now

The starting qb was twice removed.
3 OL and Hines were starters both in 01 and 05. Although smith moved to the other OT spot.
The defense also had 4 starters in both years. The DL and Porter
It’s hilarious that you think 8 out of 22 starters is essentially the same team.
Even the gd punter and kicker (two usually long tenured positions) were different.
So that’s 8 out of 24.

Some of the starters on the 05 team were in the system because they were drafted in 01-04 it wasn’t a bunch of rookies. Fanaca himself said they were a win now championship team when Ben was drafted
