The Steelers have to get it done with Rodgers. He and Russ are the only acceptable solutions at this point and the Steelers just spent the last two months disparaging Russ through media intermediaries. You think DK is going to be happy he signed long term to be thrown the ball by Gardner Minshew or Daniel Jones?

Another masterclass by the KHAN ARTIST!

Those are two more that have a chance at qualifying for a comp pick. If Wilson signs elsewhere, that’ll be another one. So good chance this team is looking at multiple comp picks next year.

Honestly if you don't like any of the QBs for draft this year, I can think of a lot worse options than throwing a 4th for Milton. Trade a 2026 pick and just replace it with a comp pick from the UFAs.

If you don't like what Milton has shown after a year, just draft a guy in 2026. Saves you from reaching for a guy like Dart this year.

Seems like a kick the can down the road strategy to the off season so far. There isn't an answer to QB right now so strategically sign players in a way that maximizes the comp picks and only do short term deals that you can get out of. That allows them to hit next off season with tons of cap space and extra draft capital.

Pickett to Cleveland is hilarious. Cheered me up from a rather underwhelming UFA day.

I've heard New England is open to moving Joe Milton. He looked great in the preseason and a regular season start late last season. I'd be interested if the cost wasn't too ridiculous. He could be this years Fields type of acquisition to be insurance if the older veteran they sign gets hurt.

Yes i wonder if they want to trade their qb 3 they drafted in the 6th round for say a 6th round pick. He as improved since his Tennessee and Michigan days

Re: the comp picks, a team can only get up to a maximum of 4 in one year. It's a strict limit of 32 total picks that are awarded every year across the league. And it's still very much a fluid situation based on who else we sign. There's a whole formula with play time, net free agency loss, awards, etc... but to even qualify we have to end up with more qualifying FA lost than gained in this particular free agent period.

Loser: Pittsburgh Steelers

Badly needing something -- anything -- at quarterback, the AFC North squad let Justin Fields walk (and find literally greener pastures), only to find itself seemingly juggling between two aging signal-callers in Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson. Maybe their answer there will thrive with DK Metcalf plugged into the receiving corps, but their roster-building strategy remains curious.

It’s not curious - it’s called the “throw things together with glue and duct tape so Tomlin’s worthless streak stays alive” strategy.

I think it’s safe to say the Steelers are no longer the model franchise admired around the league anymore.

Now they have to take the Jets castoffs… The Jets…

Thank goodness. Now we can actually play the much better back. Only reason Warren wasn't the starter is because they sunk a 1st into najee and didn't want to admit failure with that pick.
Sure or the other back was hurt and fumbles at a much higher rate than the 1st round pick. The other rb doesn’t really do anything special but is a fine change of pace rb.
