Which was more damning - losing the last 4 games, or losing to the Colts, Cowboys, and once to the Browns?
Bateman, Andrews, Likely, Henry… Lamar. we boast one possibly broken Pickens.Officially gonna be Baltimore. That’s rough and I’m not expecting much but it’s not impossible to come out of there with a win.
I don’t think they’ll have Zay Flowers and without him, even the Steelers secondary shouldn’t be overmatched.
Yeah, I also want Baltimore to win just because at least that will be a good game against the Bills…lol.. we’d get destroyed against the Bills as we always doBateman, Andrews, Likely, Henry… Lamar. we boast one possibly broken Pickens.
These last two games have really done it for me. Philly was sorta ugly but team was done after the 4th down punt. We played Baltimore decently but turnovers killed us. What Russell Wilson has turned in the past two performances has me no longer wanting him. Idk the solution but this team has basically thrown in the towel. 17 points - 10 in the 4th against one of the worst defenses in the nfl
If the Steelers play their best football I see no reason this shouldn't be a close one. Most Tomlin-Harbaugh games are and the Ravens aren't that amazing. Great offence, although no Flowers sucks for them, but average defence.
Whether they will, or whether they melt away... well, let's see.
In other news, Diontae Johnson just racked up twice the receptions and yards he had as a Raven in one game as a Texan.
I mean, on one hand just watching the last 6 weeks there's no way you can run this back next year with Wilson and Smith and Tomlin. No serious team would do that. On the other hand, I'm not really sure what other choices exist and it really doesn't matter as long as you have this coaching staff and this supporting cast.
Dan Moore has allowed the most sacks in the NFL this season...dude totally fell apart the last 6 weeks. McCormick isn't a starter. Fautanu better be able to play from day one next year, but even if he is, the OL is going to be average at best. You can only fill so many holes at once, and they have maybe 5 legitimate offensive starters - Frazier, Pickens, Friermuth, Fautanu, and Seumalu - after that there's not a single other guy under contract for 2025 on this offense that's a real NFL starter on a good team.
I'm not suggesting they should cut him. But I think it's far more likely he's a swing backup in 3 years than an NFL starter. Daniels going down early has been an underrated part of this team's struggles.I think they need to bring in some competition for McCormick, but offensive lineman take a little time and he had bigger jump than most coming from the FCS. I’m not out on him turning into something.
I think all of these things can be true at the same time. The supporting cast sucks and I'm beyond done with Smith, but Wilson has been unacceptable the last month and watching that 2:00 drive last night was just...I can't. Tomlin is going to ride him until they lose as that's what Tomlin does, but just because the rest of the offense sucks doesn't make it ok to keep playing a QB that is not only not getting it done but is also not going to get better.I don't mean this as a defense of Wilson's late season play or the coaching in general, but there's a very valid question to ask about how much you can realistically get out of this offense with the talent it has. It's hard to just say "Wilson shouldn't be back" or "Smith shouldn't be back" or "Tomlin shouldn't be back" with how much of a mess pretty much every aspect of their offense is.
Their WR1 is a diva that gives up on plays when they aren't designed for him, and they have literally no WR depth beyond him. Their HB1 is slow as shit and has never been better than a volume back. Their OL is insanely green at best, and just bad at worst. Add on an average starting QB and the coaching staff, how much upside is there realistically to be gained there?
Comparing this Steelers team to the 2015 Steelers team is completely night and day. Those teams never had everything great, but they always had at least a few of a great QB, great WR room, great RB, a great OL or a great OC. The Steelers today are mediocre to bad in all of those.
I think Fields still has upside to be a...let's say, 8-12 QB in this league. He probably won't reach it, but worst case he is a passable running QB starter. He is better than anyone in this draft at that position.I don't mean this as a defense of Wilson's late season play or the coaching in general, but there's a very valid question to ask about how much you can realistically get out of this offense with the talent it has. It's hard to just say "Wilson shouldn't be back" or "Smith shouldn't be back" or "Tomlin shouldn't be back" with how much of a mess pretty much every aspect of their offense is.

Even when he had good numbers there were signs what he was doing wasn't going to be sustainable and people didn't want to hear it.Wilson has been performing at a Kenny Pickett level the past 4 or 5 games. And half of his production during that time has been when the Steelers are down by 2 possessions while the defenses are backing off into a prevent mode. He just looks easily confused by the defenses and is taking extra time to process while not being able to identify an open lane/receiver. He of course does this standing flat-footed in the pocket with no awareness as to how the rush is developing. It’s a hard-to-watch 180 from where he was just a little over a month ago, and I can’t tell if he is genuinely cooked or other teams just figured him/Steelers out. The cookie cutter predictable play calling hasn’t exactly benefited him either.
That was 6 games ago, that poster said 4 or 5 games. If you're going to call someone's opinion dumb you should probably be able to count correctly first.Comically dumb take. Wilson threw 4 TDs and rushed for another one in those 4 games. Pickett threw 13 TD passes through 25 career games for the Steelers.
The other thing that people don't seem to realize is that Wilson is only going to continue to get worse. He's 37 next year and has been declining for 5 years. He can't see the field and he's losing mobility. Here’s what I got. I’m sure there’s way more you can add to this and some context is needed…but man I’m just not seeing Wilson as significantly better. So I’m with you in that if only one comes back, just go with the cheaper option. If they bring both back, I would hope they would go into things with an open mind.

I do think they figured Daniel was going to get double what they signed him for based off of Dotson extension. Maybe with his injury they get a discountThing is, you can bring a guy in front of him and put him back on the bench, and then put him back in for Seumalo the year after if they're sure he's progressed alright.
I doubt they'll do that. I think they declared their intention when they didn't extend Daniels. I'd bet on his competition being Spencer Anderson too. I kind of wish otherwise but that's where we. But they could.
I just don't see him dropping to the 20s and I don't want to move up with the talent at RB that will be available in the third. But yeah, Jeanty would be a pipe dream and then WR in the 2nd would be amazing. I just think they need to hit on their WR this year because the 2026 class looks subpar and Pickens is a headcase, so taking a RB early isn't ideal, but Jeanty is probaby worth it if he's there.
I still wouldn’t take Jeanty. He is a luxury and this season the RB class is deep and they need other players at more critical positions.
If Wilson comes back for cheap that’s fine. But signing him to a Baker Mayfield type of contract that people have thrown around a couple weeks ago would be a laughably bad decision unless he can go on a run in the playoffs.
I also don’t think the line will ever look “good” as long as he’s the starter.
5 starting QBs in 3 years post-Ben is Browns numbers for sure.
At this point I am neither for or against bringing Wilson back. He's simply one bidder among many and price is probably going to be more key than ability at this point.
This is exactly what happened in Denver. Hard knocks showed the ravens dc say RW is all deep ball and dump offs. He refuses to take the intermediate pass. He sucks at play action and he never looks left. He was the most sacked Qb in the nfl in Denver because he can’t maneuver around in the pocket and if his 1st read isn’t there he bails out. He could do that in Seattle but not anymore. He refuses to look left which Philly has noticed and why KC was able to pick him off and Reid could ignore GP
