I dunno about anyone else, but these losses to close out the year don't even make me mad, hell I expected them I think the last time I bothered to post here.

What actually makes me mad, which now that I think of it why bother wasting any emotions on this team considered nothing will ever change under Art until he apparently croaks, is that under Tomlin, he will never allow the team to tank a few seasons, to rebuild properly with actual elite talent at the top of the draft.

I can handle losing, especially in the NFL, which is artificially designed to benefit losing if you have no chance of winning by ways of a draft without a lottery and scheduling effected by prior year standings.

What is insanity, is perpetually fighting hard to remain mid as hell, year over year, and get absolutely nowhere except quick exits out of the first round of the playoffs.

Apathy is the only logical stance at this point, until there's a hint of change in the organization from the top down.

Well on the bright side that should end any of the wild talk of giving Russ $30m+ a year in the off season. Time to blow the team up and go into tank mode. Enough of this middle of the pack with no hopes of competing bullshit.

If I make the regrettable assumption that Mike Tomlin is the coach for life:

Pickens to anyone for a first round pick. Anyone willing to give a first for this child, please do.
Bring back Fields and sign some schmo backup to compete with him. Minshew etc.
Trade TJ Watt while he is still young.
Draft all DB, WR and OL.

Still can't believe Russ didn't throw the ball away... would've been 2nd and 10 with 42 seconds left on our 40 yard line only needing like 25 more.

The defence wasn't wonderful but that was still an above the water mark bend-don't-break performance given how hot the Bengals were.

The offence was, well, offensive.

And overall, as a response to 11 days off to prepare and a ton of pride with something meaningful on the line, that was brutal.

They're now down to one tough game to stop this team getting a ton of heat over the off-season. People will point to overperformance if its 10-7, 1 and done playoff game but they'll be laughed out of here.

Being a Steelers fan recently is watching some of the worst wr rooms in the history of football and hating the 1 guy in the group who doesn't totally suck.
It’s so frustrating. I get it, but man trading Pickens is just not gonna make things get magically better. Maybe if he drafted Brian Thomas Jr we’d have that luxury, but sadly we did not.

If you hold the Bengals offense to 19, you should win that game 99 times out of 100 considering how bad their defense is. Absolutely garbage performance by pretty much every person that had a hand in the offense.

Laughed out of these message boards, maybe. In the offices of AR III and the national media Tomlin adoration society they'll ask critically about it for 1 day before praising Tomlin again.
Wilson and Teryl Austin will walk the plank for the failure. Wilson probably deserved. They'll also throw a shit ton of capital at WR even if they trade Pickens because Khan will be lambasted for his lack of playmakers. But it'll just lead to the same 9-8 next year with Justin Fields.

100% they should do that, but we all know they won't. This franchise's biggest mistake was trading the 2020 1st for Minkah the year Ben blew his elbow out. They should have kept it and tanked for Ben's successor.
