OT: The Pittsburgher Thread: Its January and we are still talking about Handball!?! Currently 10-6

I was referring more to the decision to stay in school another year, not necessarily leaving Georgia I guess. I wonder if he could've his lost his spot on the depth chart with the injury?

Quite possible they've already got their succession plan in place and have told him they don't want to lose out on it, so off he trots.

I was wondering if teams would start doing this, especially now with so much money invested. I was curious if Texas would kind of *wink wink nudge nudge* Ewers and tell him to get lost. I legit do think Arch sticks at Texas 4 years though.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if he comes out in 27, especially if the team with the 2026 1st overall pick is viewed as dysfunctional. 2026 still looks like there's some good QB depth but it's way, way, too early for that kind of talk. Classes 2+ years out always look good on paper when there are no injuries, do not declares, or poor senior seasons.

That was a good run for Penn State but I don’t know if they’re ever gonna have an easier path to the championship than they had this year.

Allar also just isn’t that good I don’t think. The idea of him is a lot better than what he actually is.

This certainly wasn't a good performance and the INT was absolutely devastating, but I wouldn't write him off just yet. Notre Dame's defense is probably #1 in the country. Still needs some development though.

Not a single game in the entire CFP has gone the way I wanted it to. I was left with a final four that had me rooting for Giant Meteor State.

Until last night. I slightly preferred ND over PSU. Now I just hope that OSU doesn't win.

For once, can't even blame Franklin. Sure, I could nitpick a few things, but there's nothing he can do about his QB flat out missing throws and making terrible decisions and a CB falling on his ass.

Just brutal from Allar all game. Accuracy was awful, decision making was horrendous, and that interception at the end was sickening. He said after the game that he was trying to throw it into the ground which I just can't believe. I've never played a down of QB in my life and I know you throw the ball out of bounds if you're throwing it away. He's got the size, he's got the tools, but that game was a major red flag. Before the game, there was a lot of talk about him maybe leaving for the NFL after all, and I could see it. It's similar to McCarthy. Great run, played pretty well, a lot of his teammates are leaving, weak QB class, probably needs to sit for a year or 2 to continue to develop, but could maybe end up in the first round. I hate putting too much on one game, but he's gotta go back now. McCarthy showed up against the top schools. Allar's still got to prove that.

I don't know how people follow college football as closely as they do, especially now with the transfer portal, but I was reading after the game PSU will be in a similar spot next year. Contenders, but not favorites, for the the Big Ten which means if Allar stays, he'll get another shot to show up on the big stage. We'll see. It's hard to envision the offense without Warren, Singleton, and Allen, but I guess they've got a few WR in the portal and have a few more TE on the way as they usually do. If most of the O-line stays, maybe they'll be fine.

I feel like Singleton would be a really good fit for Arthur Smith’s offense. I hope the Steelers take a look at him in the draft.
He seems to me like a better version of Warren. He's got speed and though he's not the biggest, he runs hard. He's a better receiver and overall athlete, though, I think.

I was talking to a friend and they said "Yeah, but you want a change of pace back." I can understand the logic, but I don't know if I buy into that philosophy anymore.

Not sure Singlton or Allen go to the league. Allen is a projected day 3 pick probably takes 1 million nil and sticks in college.
They have some good young tes
They need to buy wr in the portal

Nick is a can house it from anywhere on the field Warren has lived off that 75 yard run in Cleveland his rookie year.

I think Singleton is gone. Most projections I've seen have him as a 3rd rounder. I don't think he's special enough to improve on that much. Too much to risk to maybe move up into the late 2nd round or something.

Allen I could see maybe coming back.

Agree about Singleton being a homerun hitter. I'm torn on the change of pace back theory, but if I am convinced of it, I dunno. Maybe you need to move on from Harris and Warren then. I like Warren, but I just don't think he's dangerous enough to be your big play RB.
