Brees accepted who he was and was willing to be a game manager Ben isn’t their yet. Brees was able to get under center and change plays at line based on pre and post snap. Ben isn’t there yet. Ben is saying the offense is close

Ben was never a cerebral QB who watched a lot of film…that’s why I don’t think he’s capable of being the older Brees or Manning or Brady…the offense will be more of the same as we’ve seen with him under center and that’s not to say he won’t make a few plays and they may win a few games, a la Buffalo….but the team’s going nowhere

There is some truth to this. Ben has done what he has over the years from natural ability. Brady does what he can because he both has taken better care of his body over the years, and he's just so much smarter as a QB.

Team has been going nowhere for a decade with Tomlin, so not like it really matters when you actually think about it.

Unless you’re into embarrassing playoff losses.

Was Matt Fieler really that bad last year for the Steelers? I keep seeing at least one poster saying he was their worst offensive linemen last year and I’m not sure how when I watch him play this season

The jags didn’t make a single defensive stop in the second half. Talk about sad.

I mean, seriously pitiful defensive play the whole second half.

It’s crazy to me that Jacksonville completely dismantled a team that nearly went to the Super Bowl 4 years ago.

not as crazy as the Steelers bringing back a washed up BR for $15 mil a year ….

I don't think they had an illusions that they would win a championship.

Again, this is a business, they were/are hoping that they can keep people in the seats. Unfortunately people have already caught on and from what they were saying on the radio, they had like 10k empty seats last Sunday. Which is just insane for this early in the season against a division rival.

A bit off topic, a question for those of you in Pittsburgh. I know the Marriott at Chatham Center is closed (which sucks, I always stay there when I'm in town for a game). But does anybody know if the parking garage at Chatham is open? Coming in for the Hawks game and I can't find this info anyplace. Thanks in advance.

The scary part is each team in the AFC North has a young superior QB to the Steelers that will all be around for quite a while.

Need a QB this year, or at least a decent backup like the past couple of years that fans have been screaming about.

I wanted Darnold badly or even Bridgewater, anyone that could step in like other teams do when their starter is playing like balls, not the Steelers, ride Ben to a 5-12 season which is my new guess.

I’d take Jimmy G as a stop gap, tbh. He’s not flashy but can throw and we have a lot of weapons.

Rodgers will cost us 40 mil.

Both would cost whoever trades for them 24 million against the cap. The packers would be stuck with the rest of Rodgers hit in dead money. If they cut him post June 1 they save an additional 19 million against the cap. They restructured is deal with an out in 23. The 49ers would have 2 million in dead money if they traded G but he will want a new deal cause he has little guaranteed money

Gardner Minshew is out there also. We were absolutely stupid for not trading for him, in my opinion. Unless Haskins makes some sort of miraculous development over what he did in the preaseason, I don't think we stand a chance. Jimmy G would be great, but I'd be curious as to what he'd cost. There seems to be quite a few solid offensive linemen next season also in free agency. I doubt Colbert sticks around at this point, but maybe he does one more year to get the team put together and then hands it off. Giving a brand new GM this dumpster fire would be disingenuous. The defense will again be championship caliber, but that D line is getting older. A solid draft and some aggressive free agent pickups could see this team in good shape next season.

I was very anti taking a QB in the draft, but I really like Desmond Ridder. I'll be watching that Cinci-ND game. If he does well, I think that blows the lid off of his draft stock and there is real talk of him potentially going top 10 in the draft. He checks a lot of boxes for me. He's kind of a Mahomes Lite...long time starter for UC, big arm, good accuracy, can kill a team with his legs and would be perfect in Canada's offense. He and Jurkovec are my two favorite QBs. I think Phil would be crazy to come out though.
