Tampa has a really unsung offensive line. Every guy they have drafted was sort of a ham and egger, but they have put together a line with all these guys. Just a bunch of norhern midwestern white dudes.

They were his first visit they did ok with a similar cook Qb. They have a freshman Qb from PA Penn State recruited he is friends with

They have multiple 1st and 2nd round picks on the line

Wilson making huge mistakes that'll cost us the division.

And that'll mean Russ shouldn't be back. @Mr Jeff Jimerson

As long as Tomlin is here it likely won't ever be. But who knows.

I already stated I stopped rooting for the Steelers week 12 when they lost to the Browns, brother. I knew that day they weren't serious contenders this year. I advised everyone in here to jump ship to save from the late season heartbreak that's now happening. I'm now a Buffalo Bills fan. I may or may not be back to being a Steelers fan next season, depending on how the offseason goes.

We messed up

It's easy to play these games, and he is who I hoped would be in there in the 2nd for us.

I truly believe that Fautanu is our tone setter for the next 10-12 years. He's truly elite. I'd still take him.

So if Buffalo loses in the playoffs then what will happen

Tough game to win given their injuries, but they still would have had a shot without Russ' turnovers. Just absolute backbreakers, both of them. They still might have lost, but they would have been in it.

As I said before the game, I think missing Elliot is massive, but the defense is starting to worry me...again. The "great on paper, but fold when they are needed" aspect is back. At least there was a Fitz sighting, I guess.

I just don't think our defense is good. They have an otherworldly HOF gamewrecker in Watt, but get carved up regularly otherwise, especially by good teams. They can crush it against inexperienced QBs and 4-8 teams, but put them up against something robust and they will get shat on.

The offense is going to be OK with Pickens back. It's a shame that it's down to 1 guy, but that was the choice Khan made.

I think there's a chance that I'm wrong about our defense, when healthy. In that case, we could go far this year.

The Steelers defense is eventually gonna get figured out in terms of needed to alternate personnel and formation in order to be successful. They're very good at trying to focus and slow down one aspect of your offense but if the offense can do multiple things from each formation/personnel set, the PIT D struggles.

Lot's of people screaming "injuries" ,but the Ravens faced the same rest period and injuries that we did.

This is another situation where if Tomlin doesn't have 100% of his players available 100% of the time he can't adjust to compensate for those potential holes.

That is schematics and Tomlin struggles with this. Austin is a puppet. This is truly Tomlin's defense and it's a massive paper tiger.

Can we just forward to the inevitable wild card loss and the excuses that follow it?

It is uniquely frustrating trying to explain to all but the most over-involved, die hard Steelers fan, the perils of our eternal throne atop NFL’s mediocrity.

Its just as frustrating trying to explain to the casual fan, or the average resident of Pittsburgh, that simply “winning” isnt really everything.

Mike Tomlin represents security to those fans who are more afraid of being the worst, than they are passionate about being the best.

Mike Tomlin’s ability to stay relevant is quite ironically, the absolute worst quality of an NFL coach (at least for me.)

There are two types of NFL followers, those whose main requirement is going to sleep every night, knowing their favorite team wont be the laughing stock. Even if it means the team will never be the best…. And those whose main requirement is the belief that, regardless of the team’s yearly record, there is a concerted strive for greatness in the future.

The Steelers under Mike Tomlin may someday, when his reign is finally over and thoroughly examined, create a new case study for GMs and owners: When does being just good enough, become not good enough.

Unfortunately right now, no such judgement exists, and we are the unlucky patrons of a franchise that has achieved a self-sustaining and perpetual ability to stay better than bad.

This 50+ year Steelers fan echo's the above sentiment.

You are welcome to keep your band-wagoning arse in Buffalo.

Go Steelers!

You would still take Fautanu over BTJ? If they were to do a redraft BTJ would be the first WR off the board.

Minkah gets pushed forward from his deep cover defender role, Minkah gets interception.

Problem is, Minkah gets pushed forward from his deep cover defender role, Kazee and back-up CBs have a bad day against Jackson.

In any case, what this team did on Saturday vs What they could do fully fit are two different things, but I don't see a lot of hope for the team being fully fit for the rest of the season. They'll get guys back vs Kansas and Cincinnati, but not all of them will be properly fit and most likely some more will go down.

The Ravens were missing 7 starters due to injury? Must have missed that.

I don't think the Steelers are well coached schematically. Completely agree. But to not recognize that missing 3/4 of your secondary against the best offense in football is an issue is silly.

The Ravens didn't have anywhere near the level of injuries this week as the Steelers did, but yes, I agree that Tomlin's defense is too fragile, too predicable, and too reliant on just hoping your athletes can out athlete their athletes.

Jackson did what he had to do, but they couldn't stop Henry either.

I'm kind of surprised how good Brian Thomas Jr. has been this early. I saw him as a freak athlete that would need some time to develop but he's developing way faster than expected. Good for him.

It may be regrettable that we took Fautanu over him for this year since Dan Moore has played better than expected and we desperately need WR help but it's too early to know if we'll regret taking Fautanu over him in the long run. Fautanu was awesome in his only start against Denver. It really just depends if his knees hold up. I think Fautanu is close to a can't miss young player/prospect otherwise.

Jackson did what he had to do, but they couldn't stop Henry either.

No, nowhere near. Last game the defensive front got to him enough times in the backfield that he wasn't a major threat, this time he pretty much did what he wanted. Which, again, injuries.

The Ravens stopped running the ball last time. I even commented that they themselves froze Henry out inexplicably. He was getting 5 yards a pop but only got 13 carries.

Hill only got 2 carries but ripped them for big gains on each.

Steelers started the game down 2 DB's.
Ravens started the game without 2 WR's and another was questionable (Bateman played).

Not saying it WASN"T a factor, but at some point the excuses for Tomlin have to stop. There's an injury excuse card for nearly every game in the NFL. Look at the teams we beat this year with significant issues on the health front. It cuts both ways.
