I think Wilson sold this game with his 2 turnovers, but at the same time, Khan simply did not do what he needed to do to surround Wilson with talent. This team's offense would be very good with Pickens at WR and a legitimate WR1/2 opposite of him, but they're not going to compete with Calvin Austin as their WR1.

Doesn't matter when the defense is this shit.

Wilson threw a pick-6 and caused a 14 point swing due to his fumble. Don't know how you can say that doesn't matter.
I mean it does matter somewhat, but his fumble was on the 4 yard line. The defense is allowed to not give the Ravens a 96 yard drive for a TD. They are also allowed to not give up over 200 yards on the ground.

Even if Russ doesn't throw the pick 6 and they tie it up the next drive. I had no confidence in the defense keeping the Ravens off the scoreboard the remainder of the way. The whole team contributed to the shit sandwich that was this game but it never felt in reach due to how the defense was playing.

If you have liabilities on defense, I don’t think it really matters how many other star players you have. And right now the secondary is filled with liabilities.

On offense, not sure how much needs to be said that hasn’t already been said. The WR situation everyone thought would be a disaster is. Wilson hasn’t been bad by any means, and without Pickens everything has an asterisk, but I’m still not sure I trust him against actually good teams.

If you want to be an optimist, losing the division and going on the road to Houston round 1 and getting KC round 2 (assuming they get past Houston) is probably the easier path for them. If they win the division they are likely getting Buffalo round 2 which is a guaranteed lost.

Baltimore winning the division means they get Buffalo round two assuming the favorites all win.

Short version of the game was that was predictable. We all knew it'd be a struggle against a good team with all those injuries, but we want this team to measure up against good teams and some of the injuries are just exposing known problems.

I guess there were some surprises. Baltimore usually don't shred the Steelers so much on the run. The offence did better than expected save for Wilson's mistakes, but every team has mistakes.

Onto Kansas I guess.

I just don't think our defense is good. They have an otherworldly HOF gamewrecker in Watt, but get carved up regularly otherwise, especially by good teams. They can crush it against inexperienced QBs and 4-8 teams, but put them up against something robust and they will get shat on.

The offense is going to be OK with Pickens back. It's a shame that it's down to 1 guy, but that was the choice Khan made.

I think there's a chance that I'm wrong about our defense, when healthy. In that case, we could go far this year.

I don’t see them getting healthy in the next 4 days so I think they lose to KC and end up limping into the playoffs.

They're decent at things like forcing turnovers, hitting deep passes, and special teams, but they're so thin now at too many key positions.

Porter, Jones, and McCormick have been not good, though I'd rather have Porter than the other options right now. The injuries in the secondary have made a huge impact, plus Pickens being out just validates what literally everyone has saying would be the downfall of the offense since the off-season.

Talking of injuries, I'll throw it out there that I've seen Watt have more imposing games against the Ravens and I doubt he was fully fit.

If you fumble on the 3 yard line, the other team has to drive 97 yards. It isn't fair at all to call it a 14 point swing. It was a 7 point swing, and on the ensuing kickoff Baltimore would have had far better field position.
There isn't any justification for calling the fumble a 14 point swing.

The thing about focusing on Wilson's turnovers and the points they cost - and I agree they were expensive - is that few QBs play a clean game in a track meet. Jackson threw a pick too and is lucky his fumble was recovered.

If the team can't cope with the mistakes - if they need the QB to play a perfect game to get the win - then there's a problem with the rest of the team. Baltimore rescued Jackson's mistakes today.

I'm not going to say it wasn't on Wilson, that'd be ridiculous - just as ridiculous as saying Wilson's expensive turnovers didn't matter because the defence had a poor day - but it feels like everyone let down everyone and nothing short of an A+ performance from someone had a shot at recusing it.
