Sucks we lost but if we win our last 2, we win division right? Gotta get healthy

Passing on Brian Thomas Jr might end up looking really bad
Yep. I realize Oline needed improved but did we really need to draft 3 ?

Receivers are easy to find. Tackles are not.

This isn't good, but this is exactly what many expected this back half of the season. This isn't a playoff team, but any given Sunday, I guess.

There were some good spots this season - I think we have some really good young offensive linemen. We will get Fautanu and Roman Wilson in addition to this draft class and contributors we have received little from this year.

We have a ton of free agents. Khan has the ability to shift this offseason. They are still in a pretty good spot cap wise, even with big raises getting delved out to some guys. I really do think they need to snag a run stopper DL and a game breaking WR or RB that can bring some juice to the offense. They just need playmakers.

Yeah I’d love to see them actually spend some money on the offense. The more I think about the WR position, the more I’d like to see them go out and get whatever established WR is available. A WR in round one is probably a pretty safe bet to be decent but if they’re a bust you’re in the same exact position on offense that they’re in right now.

On defense, they need to revamp the CB room…again.

I truly think this is a coaching issue. I have never seen this staff develop a corner.

I dunno about that. I’m still pretty high on Porter — I think he’s just going through what a lot of young corners go through.

I think a big part of the problem is that they rely on other teams scraps or day 3 picks and UDFAs too much.

Part of Porter's problem is what everyone has been saying about since before he was drafted. He's too hands-y and it's gonna cost him with penalties. Well ...

I think Wilson sold this game with his 2 turnovers, but at the same time, Khan simply did not do what he needed to do to surround Wilson with talent. This team's offense would be very good with Pickens at WR and a legitimate WR1/2 opposite of him, but they're not going to compete with Calvin Austin as their WR1.
They have a guy who can be a WR2 but they refuse to feature him more. Mike Williams can be that guy.
This team defensively never lets me down late in the season. Every year they come up small in crunch time. Another one and done in the playoffs.

Yeah, Porter's doing fine. Sutton had a good career for a 3rd rounder too, and Bishop's doing better than I expected - but those expectations point to the second part of your message. Shit in, shit out. We don't have McDermott turning randoms into a great secondary.

They absolutely had to bring in two guys. Tackle and Centre needed upgrades, no two ways about it. McCormick was a bit of a luxury at the time of drafting, but that changed quickly and besides, come the 4th round and on, I'm okay with them just drafting whoever they think will contribute at some point as the quality thins out.

I don't know that Williams can tbh. I don't know his body is in great shape and I don't know where his chemistry is with the guys. I expected them to use him more but to step into WR2, that seemed optimistic to me.

Because some of these things happened early, they tend to be forgotten, but the Steelers played against a real contender on the road in a short week missing 7 guys who were projected to be starters - Fautanu, Daniels, Porter, Jackson, Elliott, Pickens, and Ogunjobi, plus Watt was clearly not 100% - not many teams are going to fare well in that circumstance. Doesn't change the fact that the WR room is unacceptable, the defense is still constantly blowing assignments this late in the season, and the roster is not where it needs to be - but not many teams are going to win missing that many starters and key contributors. I also really, really don't understand what's up with the usage of Friermuth and Williams, particularly with Pickens out.

The below kind of makes me think they held guys out yesterday:

To have 5 guys who didn't play 18 hours ago be deemed to have a "real chance" to play in 3 days really suggests to me they kind of punted yesterday to try to win the last 2.

I have heard a few people say that if yesterday was a playoff game GP would have played would probably mean most everyone else who missed
JPJ probably doesn’t play on Wednesday

I'd suggest punctuation would assist your posts, but if you're saying that you think that what you've heard about Pickens means that Elliott and Ogunjobi and Jackson all could have played also, I'd agree that today's presser supports that.

Of course the Eagles are forced to play Pickett and lose their first game in a while the week after they play the Steelers.

Yes that’s exactly what I was trying to say
I also believe they will just play the starters for a half against Cincinnati because they made up their mind wherever they play they can win as long as they are healthy

That's not solely as to what my opinion is predicated on. He's played well, but I haven't been bowled over by his performances either. There's been a couple so-so performances in there. Overall he's played well, but I don't think at this time he should be given the keys just yet.

Thats fair
