This is a game where throwing the ball will be nearly impossible if winds are really hitting gale force. Absolutely no chance at moon balls.

No reason to not start Fields. The team that can push in the run game and hold onto the ball is going to win.

What do you mean by trap game? Usually it means a team is overlooking the opponent. I don't think that is the case at all. I think the problem is the short week after a tough opponent, a road game, and crappy weather. I don't consider that a trap so much as simply a tough scenario.
I mean, I don't think they are mutually exclusive, but yeah, I absolutely think there is a risk of them taking the Browns lightly. They are 8-2 coming off a big win and the Browns are 2-8. The other stuff just makes it more likely that something funny could happen.

I don't think they will take the Browns lightly, given it is a divisional game and that WInston is now the starter and has been pretty good in 2 of 3 games. Their offense is a lot more dangerous now than with Watson out there.

You're going to bench Wilson due to weather? Wilson has proven to be the better QB.
You going to bench Wilson for a cold weather playoff game too? That's nuts

Neither QB is benched. They have even said that they have a whole package for Fields. If it snows as much as it's supposed to, yeah, I'd put in the guy who can run, because we cant get guys open without snow. What do you think it's going to look like with it? Russ is a sitting duck. Fields is not. Protecting Russ more than anything. His skills aren't going to be relevant if there are inches of snow.

Snow. Broderick Jones. Myles Garrett. Russ Wilson just standing there. God bless. And Russ can't stay on script.

Fields also has a troubling habit of fumbling the ball on a dry sunny day, so we're going to think he won't have issues in the cold/wet?

I'm not understanding this at all.

And yes, JF is the backup in both depth chart and playing time. Just bc he gets package plays doesn't magically make him the starter.

Wilson is playing bc he's the better QB, period. We saw what Fields can do and it was what we expected- a slightly above mediocre QB who has processing limitations. I'm fine with JF in package plays, but otherwise do not want him taking significant snaps for the team now or in the future.

We’ll see what the next couple of games bring and if the Ravens game was just a result it being a Ravens game but there’s also a number of metrics that point to Fields performing slightly better than Wilson. I’m not really advocating for a switch but I think it’s a little closer than people think.

Wilson’s been capable of hitting the big plays but they start to dry up like they did Sunday, he doesn’t offer a whole lot.

I'm also thinking about this. And while the Ravens game could just be a Ravens game, the New York games where Wilson exploded could just be fresh QB bounce against demoralised poor quality teams. Decent amount of short fields for him too.

The really big thing for me between the two was this sense that the whole offence just seemed more open and explosive with Wilson there. Opening up the running games and so on. But I don't think that really happened as much vs Washington. They were clinical which was great but there were a lot of drives where they didn't move the ball well.

Tomlin is 0-5 in divisional road TNF games

I'm not expecting their best
If the Steelers don't win tonight, it will show they're not serious contenders this season and the same old unserious Steelers. I, personally, will find a new team to root for for the remaining of the season instead of subjecting myself to the inevitable late season heartache. I would recommend the rest of you to do the same.

So if the Steelers lose to the Browns, they'll be called frauds (which wouldn't be undeserved). What does that make the Ravens, who already lost to both the Browns and the Raiders?
