Seeing some nice ball movement from the Sixers tonight. What a concept.
Harden also played shockingly good defense. Of couse its the Kings but still.
Doc would never play Joe enough to let him develop. I can't believe they kept Korkmaz over Joe.
Joe was let go so they could sign House.
Because they needed veteran 'dawgs' to get them over the hump.
Because the 2018 Rockets needed a redemption tour.

Yandle over Ghost except its even more inexcusable.

I'm really dissappointed with Morey's Houston redux fixation. His street cred has taken a big hit.

On another note...weird that Embiid recently said they are trying to trade him. Very cryptic....

Maybe Morey is thinking of a process reset...trading him for a chance at the 1st pick overall and the next generational talent. Would be ballsy and not unlike Morey....

Wait, what? Where did you see this?

Edit:

Google "Embiid trade" and I get this. He thinks the fans want to trade him apparently.

Edit #2:

And reading the articles, it sounds like he's not even serious. "Troell Embiid" at work.

Yeah it was cryptic in a Troell way but it was weird considering he has been at MVP level again. Maybe he wants to be traded and it's reverse psychology...

Deep. Very deep.
If you had Doc Rivers as your coach and your GM and ownership is gaslighting you and the fans by keeping him employed and then your GM tries to reconstruct a failed project in Houston....I would start petitioning to do better or move me. He already said he wouldn't mind playing with Butler again...half Troelling ..

I mean this is how superstars act in today's NBA if they feel the team they are on can't cut being a legit contender. Joel is not immune to this posturing even if he doesn't help when he is injured which is not his fault but just the byproduct of being a big man with an expiration date fast approaching.

Still early but if Morey doesn't tinker for more help or if the team doesn't get on a consistent roll prior to the playoffs ....and then they get ousted in the 1st or 2nd round...don't for one minute think he isn't going to turn his Troells into something more...

Yes...deep....deep shit for the process...

Meh, I liked Joe but the kid can't play D, can't pass, he's a pure shooter.
When they added Melton, that pushed Joe further down the bench. Melton is the one, not House, that ended Joe's tenure.
Melton is better than expected and only 24. Joe is 23.

I think Bassey came down to Bassey or B-Ball Paul. Reed isn't ready for a full load, which explains Harrell.

Korkmaz doesn't shot as well as Joe, but has a much more complete game, and can help now.
This team is build to win the next two seasons, then Harden leaves, Harris the year after.
Then if Embiid is healthy, you use the cap room to extend Maxey and add pieces for a second 2-3 year run.

What impresses me about Embiid's play lately is he's putting up huge numbers without forcing shots, he's taking good shots, squaring the shoulders from the elbow and top of the paint, and hitting a high % of them. Passing out of double teams, not the "hero ball" play that always gets him into turnover trouble.

Harden seems to be adjusting to the role of a PG/3 point shooter who attacks the basket just enough to keep defenses honest, but has accepted he's no longer the focal point of the offense.

This is some r/sixers type stuff. IJ wasnt even getting minutes last year.
Morey grabbed Melton because NONE of the actual bench rotation proved they could handle 6th man minutes.

Thybulle and Kork both do nothing. Thybulle might even has some value to a dumb GM yet both were kept.
IJ's shooting tool was at least still theoretical at the time of his trade.
3 years of Thybulle and 4+ of Kork and neither have proven theyre even NBA players let alone rotational pieces on a contender. Win now? With them?!

Then Sam Bankman-Fried doubles down and gives 2 year deals to House, who hasnt been above replacement since 2019, and Harrell who's never been good and who no one wanted to touch but he's one of Doc's guys.

I'll ask you this since this team is all about winning now.
In a playoff series vs the Celtics, Bucks, Nets or Cavs do any of Thybulle, Trez, Kork or House see the floor?
Would you feel confident playing them? How about next year?

Dont worry im sure Doc will test that hypothesis during the playoffs and get a pink slip for his troubles.
And then SBF will hire D'Antoni out of the coffin he sleeps in because despite being an avid chess player he makes the same moves every time expecting different outcomes.

Thybelle is working on his shot, and he's not shooting badly, his biggest issue is confidence, but he's a top notch defender.
He just has to hit the open 3 at 35+% or so, allowing you to access his defense without being an offensive black hole. He's rebounding more and running the floor more in transition.

Korkmaz was hurt last season, starting to get it back, at best he can play multiple positions. He's deep depth.

House is the one player I could live without, but they don't have a lot of players who can defend small forwards.

Harrell is fine, you have to know your matchups (lack of height limits him against some centers) but Reed is still too inconsistent and can get into quick foul trouble. So Harrell provides a security blanket.

Milton really surprised me with Maxey and Harden out, looks like he did a few years ago but stronger.

Miserable team. So glad they're hard to play against. I also wish they had a coach whose go-to scheme wasn't iso for 20 seconds off the shot clock

This is going to be a curb stomping tonight. Joel can get 50 easily if he wants it.

Raps have no C. Koloko is starting and he should be in G league. So damn weak.
Best defensive player in OG is hurt. As is Trent Jr, Achiuwa and Porter Jr.
No bench scoring. No outside shooting.
No one can stop your guards....too big, too fast.
This will be game over by the half.
