I wouldn't put it past Lou to want Sutter back, but I don't think Sutter would come back anyway since the same 'family' issues are still gonna be there, especially he wouldn't want to take over for his good friend. I do think Boucher is an in-season possibility though lol, he's Lemaire's buddy after all and younger...problem is he's the same type of coach as Pete really.

I realize my Sutter theory is some tin foil hat stuff, but nothing would shock me at this point. It's just something that crossed my mind. And the fact that Lou thought highly enough of Sutter to groom him to possibly be his successor one day. We weren't seeing these defensive breakdowns under Sutter, and our defense was as good or as average, whatever you wanna call it.

I really don't want Sutter back, but it's something I thought about. The fact that we'll be in his neck of the woods this week was also something that I thought about too. I once suggested on TG's blog that Lou will probably fire MacLoser and bring back Lemaire. This was a month before he was fired, and I was laughed off there. I think even TG himself accused me of being crazy.

I wouldn't mind Sutter coming back, I really wouldn't. That system was damn good but that was back when Parise, Zajac, and Langs were wrecking ****. This is an entirely new team now.

We may as well trade every draft pick we have for a 35 year old turd.

The same guy that had a 21 year old rookie center Kovy and Parise an entire season? This board was thrilled when Adam Oates left the team. Our PP still sucks and Washington is unreal. Our issues are not with the coaching staff but with the players. Larsson, Fayne, and JJ all need to improve if they want a guaranteed spot in the lineup.

If we actually HAD forward depth at the beginning of the last two seasons Henrique would have fallen into the same abyss as Josefson/Fayne/Larsson. Especially after he got scratched/sent down early in '11. Besides, it's not as 'risky' to have a young forward play (Matteau being another example) than it is a young d-man or goalie.

Honestly, the more Pete makes adjustments that only serve to highlight Volchenkov's poor play, the better off we are. It's best to get the undeniable fact - that Volch is done - out of the way at the beginning of the year.

It's only the start. Last year, we thought we were going to be a playoff team after the first 1/3. We were wrong.

Josefson proved he was better than Gionta in preseason, yet he hasn't sniffed a game yet because Gionta works "hard"

He can't take faceoffs, his small stature does not allow him to block players well, and when he's on the p.k disaster usually strikes. There's no doubt in my mind that one of Pete's boys is Gio.

There is like less than a 1% chance Pete gets fired anytime soon. Jagr, Brunner, Clowe, and Ryder all have to learn our system.

I hate what hes doing to Larsson. I can almost guarantee he walks asap. So many less talented dmen that are just as young get more ice.

He was also scratched late in 12-13 as well. And guys like the One Trick Poni were kept in to continuously suck.

I had a bad feeling we'd see some of the same **** this season, and I was told by many ''You're worrying too much. Pete won't do that this year, his job is on the line if he does''. Just wait until he ****s with the goalie situation, although it probably won't matter who we have in net with this horrendous play in front of them.

Part of me doesn't want him gone at all cause I have this fear Stevens will take over. I still don't believe Lou would have Stevens take over though, but I wouldn't wanna find out.

It depends how you define 'soon'. It ain't going to be the 5-10 games that people here are predicting/hoping for, but Pete lost his immunity card last year imo, and Lou is NOT going to sit idly by as the team misses the playoffs a third time in four years after all the resources he spent (money and another first-rounder) on the team this offseason.

I think the line of demarchation is just before Thanksgiving after the 'second' West Coast trip. That's 23 games. If we're like 6-13-4 or worse then yeah I could definitely see a change.

Yes, he had Zajac back when Zajac was actually good offensively. The current Zajac is closer to John Madden or Sammy Pahlsson than anything.

He scratched Loktionov and Henrique last year too, for "fresh legs", I have seen enough already he needs to GTFO.

the lineup changes are ridiculous. i know its 3 games but damn.
i'm sick of Lou's lack of foresight. why doesn't anyone in this organization want to give Larsson every opportunity to succeed. I don't understand the benching its demoralizing to the fans and the player.
Lou needs to recognize that we are not a contender and we need to focus more on building the foundation for the future. We are already using the cap space for the kone anyways so why not just bench him and let fayne or gelinas play. volch is not going to suddenly become good and entice a trade. Lou has to know the buyout is inevitable for him. bench his ass and give our fans something to look forward too.

Agreed - when I said soon I meant like end of this month.

Jagr, Brunner, Clowe, and Ryder have 6 of our team's 7 goals. Has nothing to do with that.

It has to do with a 3rd season of not being able to play with a lead.

Exactly, the honeymoon is over. But Lou cares about results. If the team is reasonably close to playoff positioning he won't fire the coach.

Wow Deboer actually said Larsson hasn't had a good start to the season. I think this is the first time I've heard him critique a player personally. You know he would never say that ''Volchie hasn't had a good start to the season''.

How many coaches criticize a veteran that never complains about anything?
