THE OTTAWA SENATORS ARE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS!

Only way for the arena to not get infested with filth is for Sens fans to buy up the majority of tickets.
Maybe i’m misremembering but i don’t recall it being much of an issue when we played the Habs in the playoffs all those years back. Hoping its the same deal this year

Right but the argument I was responding to was that Brady shouldn't be ranked a top contributor because he had periods of ineffectiveness and team has been doing fine without him. The same argument could be made for Stutzle, and at arguably the most important time of the year.

Stutzle has not been as effective as usual, but if I have to choose a player that would have more detriment to the team when not in the lineup, I'm going with Stu. Brady wreaks havoc out there, but Timmy is the one forward we have that can make something from nothing and the other team needs a game plan to mitigate that. Brady does not have the array of tools that Stutzle has, not too many players do

Yea I remember attending those games and it was pretty much 90/10 sens to Hab fans. However Toronto fans in and around the Ottawa area are some of if not the worst inbreds and they will pay to see their team.

Ah, gotcha, I was focused on the original ask of who was most integral, missed his rationale for not Brady, my bad

I think that it will be 50-75 percent Senators fans if we face the Leafs. Regular season games are different because Senators fans can watch the Sens play dozens of times a year for $30, Leafs fans cannot. That's why it ends up at 75+ percent Leafs fans. The floor for Leafs tickets is higher than the ceiling for regular season Sens tickets, so they all get sold to Leafs fans. Playoffs are different because there is no substitute product. There is more demand with Sens fans, and there is a willingness to pay a few hundred dollars for nosebleeds.

The secondary market sales are a drop in the bucket right now. For example, game 1 has sold 10 tickets in the last 24 hours, and it isn't guaranteed that those are all Leafs fans.

The bigger concern is the undercover Leafs fans who are SSMs. I think the resale aspect is going to be a bit overblow and most of the invading fans will come from within.

In theory, I don't mind the split crowd, it actually could be a really fun atmosphere with normal well adjusted people - but the problem is that most Leafs fans treat it like The Purge.

Anything less than 80 percent Sens fans and I'd be dissapointed.

I think there will be lots of Sens fans, but 80% is pretty high. My main concern is about how high the prices will be on the secondary market, enticing some people who overspent on season tickets to get playoff tickets to sell them to recoup some money.

I remember sitting next to a guy at the SCF in 2007 who had bought 8 sets of season tickets because he could sell the Finals tickets for a profit anyway.

Yep, it can get crazy. I think this will actually be a good test of where the market is at right now. You've got a bunch of Sens fans who are hungry for the playoffs and wanting to support the team turning things around, new ownership/management, etc versus the potential financial incentives that they could access from rabid leaf fans.

Habs weren’t an issue because they were a last minute opponent and tickets were all bought up , the second time we played the habs their fans were more in our face

But you can’t watch Matinpalo the last 5 games and think he’s better then Hamonic, equal but not better
It's surprisingly tight looking at their respective last 5 games,

Hamonic vs Matinpalo:

CF% 38.31 vs 39.25
GA% 25 vs 28.57
xGA% 34.94 vs 28.28
SCF% 34.67 vs 32.65
HDCA% 34.14 vs 29.03
OZ start% 43.18 vs 37.04

Imo we need a euro football style away supporters area.
let opposing teams have their section/// take their money
Win win

This is what I said a couple weeks back too. It just makes sense. Plus it means you have the euro style home supporters section behind the other net too - a place for the hardcore fans to cheer the full game through, driving the crowd without scarring those of gentler nature in the generals :)

This is part of that model as well. I've been at games here where there were clearly fans of the other team in the general seating, it's only natural, but they know they're in enemy territory and act accordingly. You see someone cheer when the other team scores then quickly stop and glance around fervently - as it should be  Of course it's all theoretical. The kind of aggressive behaviour that keeps away fans in line here wouldn't really go over in NA, but that's why security makes sure no one's wearing away paraphenalia in the generals, to keep things civil. At least some hybrid model could work

Sure, but he did pretty well in the other 61 games, I think it's pretty fair to say he was important to us making the playoffs. He could had zero points in the last 17 and he'd still be the team's leading point producer.
If you had to sit one of the following players for the playoffs, who would you pick?
Sanderson
Ullmark
Tkachuk
Stutzle

You wouldn't want to go to the dance without either of them but it is an easy choice for me. It's 18.

I haven’t read through all of the pages, but let’s just say that I hope both Stutzle and Brady play their A level game in the playoffs. With Brady, its a matter of health of course.

I had hoped Stutzle would be around the 95 ish point mark & 35 goal level this year which seems unlikely now.
