SEC hoops is going to be an insane season. Probably 6 of the top 10 teams in the country all beating each other.
Kentucky beat Florida, Florida destroys #1 Tennessee, then Kentucky shits the bed in Georgia. Can't see anyone finishing the SEC with less than 4 conference losses

Florida def destroyed TN looking at the score but I’ve also never seen a good team shoot so terribly in my life. They made 10 total fgs and had a ton of completely uncontested jumpers and minimally contested layups just not convert. Good time to get a stinker out of the way tho.
I only kept up with the score but yes, "stinker" is a good word for that. Remains to be seen if that was just a holiday hangover or the real Vols.

I think Nashville will be really great spot for a WNBA team. I guess if you get in before they actually start making money and it works out then it ends up being a good deal, but its still pretty risky considering how reliant the WNBA still is on the NBA.

Having Haslam involved seems to make it very legit, not just his money, but because the Preds would need to be okay with sharing the arena.

I can honestly say the last thing I would ever drive to Nashville to watch is baseball. A day at the ball park was boring even when it was more than just throwing and swinging for the femces. I can't imagine now.
Going to be hell to get a stadium approved after the debacles around Geodis and new Nissan.

What happened there? I don't care enough about the NFL to pay that much attention.
Debacle probably the wrong term. But they originally were just going to renovate current Nissan Stadium but then "the research" said it would cost more to renovate than to build a new one. So they went that route.

I don’t understand why it would be hell. Baseball in Nashville has to happen. It would probably be 5 years from now and a lot of the funding would be private. Titans got a new stadium and are one of the worst franchises in the NFL. Baseball is Middle Tennessee’s biggest youth sport and Atlanta is the closest pro team to Nashville.
Several reasons:
1. Neither the city nor the state is going to pony up one dime for another stadium/park. The Titans stadium was a masterclass in ramming something through the gov't so fast that no one knew what was happening. That won't happen again.
2. There are no apparent billionaires willing to fund another stadium/park and pay the MLB fees for a new team.
3. Where would you put it? Williamson County makes the most sense until you consider cost of land, infrastructure, etc. And, no, it cannot go where the Sounds park is. Not big enough.
4. Oh yeah, the Sounds. They have rights and they would have to be paid a LARGE sum to go away if an MLB club was able to locate somewhere around downtown.
5. The Titans may be crappy, right now, but they are by far and away the most popular franchise and sport in Nashville. Only thing that rivals it is the SEC. They are having no trouble selling PSLs for the new stadium at OUTRAGEOUS prices. And the new stadium can be used year round for concerts, other sports, etc.
The MLB in Nashville thing is a fantasy.

1 and 2) MLB expansion would be roughly 2029. 2031 season would be a realistic first season. A lot can change and Nashville will continue to grow as the dominant city of the south. Rich people love sports teams.
3) Across the river where the Titans stadium is could make sense. That whole area could be revitalized to be a sports entertainment district. It would be an incredible place for a ball park. There is also the possibility of North Nashville around Ted Rhodes Golf courses and TSU. Williamson County would be an option as well.
4) The Sounds would obviously be gone but again, we are talking 2031 at the earliest. Money would make this go away. Their contract with the Brewers ends in 2030.
5) Titans would still be #1 yes. The Titans had half their stadium funded by the public (largest in US history) and are ass every year. It’s wild that people are so against MLB in Nashville. It’s a matter of time, imo.
