OT: The Other Sports Thread Part X

SEC hoops is going to be an insane season. Probably 6 of the top 10 teams in the country all beating each other.

Kentucky beat Florida, Florida destroys #1 Tennessee, then Kentucky shits the bed in Georgia. Can't see anyone finishing the SEC with less than 4 conference losses

Florida def destroyed TN looking at the score but I’ve also never seen a good team shoot so terribly in my life. They made 10 total fgs and had a ton of completely uncontested jumpers and minimally contested layups just not convert. Good time to get a stinker out of the way tho.

I only kept up with the score but yes, "stinker" is a good word for that. Remains to be seen if that was just a holiday hangover or the real Vols.

The chairman of the NHL's Nashville Predators and his wife want to bring the WNBA to Music City and have teamed up with a star-filled investor group that includes Candace Parker, Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and entertainers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

The group led by Bill Haslam, a former Tennessee governor, submitted its bid to the WNBA on Thursday for a franchise that would start playing in 2028. The team would be named the Tennessee Summitt in honor of the late Pat Summitt.

I think Nashville will be really great spot for a WNBA team. There's already a base of women's basketball fans and then you also don't have an NBA team to compete with.
