OT: The Other Sports Thread Part X

And evidently he celebrated too hard after it and got a DUI...
I’m sorry, but if league policy is no alcohol at team facilities/bus/airplane, how can you possibly get drunk between the flight landing at ~2 am and your traffic stop at 2:30.

(Just a comment on how “No Alcohol” is a “Policy” and not an actual policy.)

The story I read this morning said the stop was at 4:30

No the booking was at 4:30. Typically it’s 2-3 hours between stop and booking.

There’s the stop, the test, the extra cops called, and then the paperwork (and if you’re smart another test at the station). The “time” is when all of that is done, not when the car is pulled over.

Edit from NFL.com:

“The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Downing was observed on I-65 at around 2:30 a.m. local time driving a vehicle at a high rate of speed. A THP trooper conducted a traffic stop with Downing and observed signs of impairment and the smell of an intoxicant coming from inside his vehicle. Downing was then placed under arrest.”

I would have to assume that if drinking was allowed on the plane than the team would be subject to league discipline for one allowing it and two letting him drive home impaired. I would imagine others possibly also drove home but were not caught. This might get more complicated.

Vandy beating Florida is actually slightly less of an upset this year than Vandy beating Kentucky, but your point is still valid.

And TCU and Michigan almost threw the whole playoff picture into utter chaos.

All the top teams f’d around today. Vols might be the ones who are about to find out…

Tennessee was just ugly, thought they could just breeze through the rest of the season and got spanked. Meanwhile my Hogs may have spanked Lane Kiffin right out of the Auburn job

And good for Vandy. They went like 16 years without winning an SEC game and then did it 2 weeks in a row. That Missouri game they let get away from them is probably going to keep them out of a bowl though.

I said it earlier in this thread but after so many years of being a vols fan no one should have taken for granted we would win out the stretch of Mizzou, SC, and Vandy. Vandy is not going to be an easy one for the Vols either. Just blew our playoff chances (and possibly a bid to a NY6 bowl) and very likely will be starting the backup QB going up against a team that is looking to become bowl eligible and has a chance to once again ruin the season of their biggest rival.

This will be the true test of this team and coaching staff of whether we can bounce back after adversity. Butch Jones couldn’t do it so here hoping Heupel can.

Blackman still can’t beat Oakland but they have closed the gap. They were only down by 5 deep in the 3rd before Oakland blew it open.

Oakland will likely win another state championship.

Going to be really really difficult without Hendon. :(

I think we were slight favorites but a draw isn't super surprising.
Berhalter's second half tactics and substitutions are highly questionable. Acosta has never proven himself capable of performing in any role, yet he constantly trots him out there. Good showing overall, but we gave two points away
