Military plane goes down in San Diego Bay ... 2 pilots on board.

Both were rescued and taken to hospital.

Saying it was a fighter jet.

not sure where to post but has anyone found the holy grail of being on a laptop and not having to click precise locations to not be redirected to pop ups? I assume my subscription to the site being expired has a role in this, but figured I'd ask....

Any other breakers out there in Sabreland?

This opening set from Alkolil has been living interest-free in my head for the better part of a decade now. That slide at 00:30 🤪

Had an interview this morning. I referred to the job in the past on here as a "slam dunk." And honestly, it went really, really well. I got on well with the 3 people in the interview, had some casual chit chat at the end. And then they told me the rough salary. Sigh. Over a 30k pay cut.

So I was feeling frustrated. Threw on THIS SONG and cranked the volume. Stopped for gas. Saw I had an email from the interview I had last week asking me to come in for an in-person second interview next week. It would be an hour commute each way, which sounds atrocious, but I really like the environment. No word on salary yet, though. At the very least, stacking some practice interviews is good to keep that muscle in shape.

An hour commute ain't so bad.... as long as you're not dealing with winter weather. Hopefully it's a decent salary.

Keep on truckin'

It's funny, I had a HR screen call, its crazy how quickly you can get out of practice.

I'm in a weird spot where I have a good job with good people but we were acquired by a bigger company so I know its on a timer. I'm trying to plan an exit from tech long term, but nearly every opportunity would require a giant short term paycut.

My current commute is 8 mins, and there will definitely be winter weather involved if I get the gig and none of my international irons in the fire pan out, but I figure it also would give me time to catch up on some audiobooks and do some foreign language work in the car.

For real. It's definitely a muscle that needs reps to stay in shape. The only time I worked for a place that was acquired, I stayed for ~3.5 years before bouncing. 8 months later almost everyone was gone and not replaced. I hope you find a pathway to success, my man.

I'm in the same boat, would love to exit tech permanently, but the paycut is tough. I just hate feeling trapped. I've even thought if I could get something on the side up and running with decent money, I could work tech p/t or on contracts for a while to ease out.

Good luck! I had something come through my inbox that is a research position but in Minnesota near the Manitoba border. I applied, I'm certain that I will not get it - I'm too old. Felt good to see it though. The county position (temporary), still hasn't been filled but they still haven't hired it. Since budgetary constraints are afoot, I doubt I will get that either.

Good luck to you as well!
