This team clearly has no structure and has no idea how to play in their own zone.

It’s also clear we have no future in net between Montembeault and Primeau. We can’t rely on “hope” with Fowler. We need to find a proven #1 goaltender.

Primeau was barely under his expected saves, that’s how bad the rest of the boys were

Hard pill to swallow that maybe all the kids you hyped up aren’t that good, once again, so idk keep holding on to the dream that the next batch is the right one zzz

The hyped up guys played fine. Absolutely no one hyped up Barron, Struble, Heineman or Kapanen, and in our case the veterans are performing worse, like Dvorak & Armia.

They need to fight it out for the backup spot.

I’ll just keep repeating what I believe.
1 more awful season with a high pick and a firing of our coach at season end will go a Looooong way.

Pathetic team that cares more about the wack little celebration than improving all aspects of the game to become winners

The hyped up guys did not in fact play fine, outside of getting their usual points they were all really doodoo both with the eye test AND the underlying numbers

We got absolutely smoked on all levels

Aside from guys doing lapse in the defensive zone following the other team around pointlessly, I really see a team that is too careless with the puck. Just before the 4th goal while Caufield has the puck in his own end, he has a few options to clear the zone… chip off the glass or a short pass to a teammate directly ahead of him or a 50 foot pass to Suzuki on the other side of the rink. He chose the 50 foot pass that’s easily broken up, then the puck comes back and it’s in the back of the net a few moments later. It’s plays like this that happen dozens of times a game. As a team they make too many low percentage passes, low percentage pinches by the D, low percentage dump ins for retrievals etc. It’s really no surprise they are bottom of the league in so many team categories at EV.

It’s not all on the coaches, but it’s also not all on the players. They currently lack enough good coaching while also lacking enough good players. It’s currently not a good combination. Losing is fine, but they make it too easy. They don’t need to be Lemaire’s Devils, but they can be less careless in their overall play. There needs to be a standard to what is acceptable and what is not and right now anything goes and that is not good for “culture”.

Bring in Jacques Lemaire. I'm serious. If we cannot compete at any levels, might as well give these kids an easy structure to buy in and fill the ice with freaking barbwire.
