Thinking Ahead to a small trade, up to an Elias Lindholm sized trade, there's a (very good) chance that we have to shed a roster player or two to be cap compliant. Not an easy thing to do when a team has such good chemistry.
Last year Reilly (sent down), Craig Smith and Stud were the guys. Obvious non-core underperformers. Haula before that was a true hockey trade.
So this year who are the only remotely plausible names we could trade to get cap compliant without upsetting the team chemistry or depth? I'll list some uncontroversial names and maybe some more controversial ones. I didn't put Lohrei because I guess he's not counting against the cap presently. I also recognize that the guys listed on nearly league minimum certainly don't make much sense, nor would they offer much relief. Hence the bind...
