Caught the first period before going to work. Lundqvist got peppered pretty good and stood tall.

Things looking good for the US - the other favorites off to relatively sluggish starts. Big game tomorrow vs. Russia.

Need to play a physical game. Its been Russia's MO to come up small when they get hit in the mouth early in games.

hank looked solid. hes money in international play.

the swede pp was atrocious.

swiss team played very good game

go sweden. im swedish so i can say that :handclap:

NBC needs to stop beating the Miracle on Ice to death. That interview with Parise and Suter was cringeworthy. They're sick of being asked about it. USA and some version of Russia have met in the men's tournament 6 or 7 times since 1980. There's other history to discuss. 2002 for example.

Good for Lundqvist!

Cally moved down to line 3. (Brown-Backes-Cally) - Love this line

Suter/McDonagh is now the line 1 pairing.

Suter-McDonagh is stupid IMO. Forcing McDonagh to play his off side and loading up the top pairing, ehhhhh

An hour until the puck drops in Norway vs Finland. I'm really afraid of a letdown today after the relatively strong performance of yesterday against Canada, but I hope we can keep the good play going. If we do, we might have a small chance of a upset.

In a way, the Finns can he harder to play against than Canada. Hockey is a pretty simple game. You need to do certain things to win. Canada don't have much chemistry on their lines, and a ton players used to really big roles. Early in a tournament, it's never a given that you get ALL those things you need from the get go. If the Finns are more in synch, they could be more effective than Canada.

Last night Tollefsen looked like a million bucks..

Let's hope he keeps it up tonight too..

Who has the most icetime tonight? Zuke or Holos?

well say Girardi or Stralman walks, maybe Rangers management will sign Tollefsen as a stopgap... he has history with Rick Nash and Zuccarello... we got Jagr's friends when he was a Ranger, maybe this is why we are getting Nash's buddies from the Jackets.. its a shame he went to europe.. he would be an upgrade over some of the defense on some teams in the NHL.

I don't know what kind of relationship Nash and Tollefsen had in their Blue Jacket days.
