100%.Perfect deal at the low end of what everyone was guessing.
Benford next ?
I wanted to say "And the hits keep coming..." but I think we're above that here.
Believe he is doing it to free up money for this year.Interesting to see Beane buttoning up his own guys before free agency starts. I'm assuming some restructures and releases are coming before 3/12.

Rousseau was going to count for his 5th year so there has to be some good savings there. The players are all on their rookie deals still. There is SOME savings there, but not a ton
It's likely about setting up signing some big deals and knowing what years they can shift cap space into without causing too many problems long term.
Heard his cap hit should drop from 14M~ to around 8M. Not sure how accurate that is but I’ll take it. BB has a few more options too - JA ext, DD restructure. McGovern. Brown. Knox. I remember listening to Joe Marino’s podcast a week or so ago where he explained how BB can clear up to around 75M if he wanted to. Not advocating we do that, but Beane has options if he plans on bring in a big name at Edge.Rousseau was going to count for his 5th year so there has to be some good savings there.
OK, we have a insider here! @NotABadPeriod Sal is that you ?Next up isn't Benford or Cook. Or even McGovern.
It's Reid Ferguson.
I simply disagree. We don't seem to be in disagreement regarding Bernard's run defense. Or his blitzing skills. They are, at best, meh. This is nonsense.
Bernard is very good in coverage. They didn't gift him that contract. Terrel earned every penny of it. My concerns with him are injury related. He made numerous significant splash plays the previous year being 1 of 3 players since 1982 to finish the season with 6+ sacks 3+ INT's and 3+ Fumble recoveries. It's not even that big of a contract. 4 year/50M with 25M guaranteed. For comparison, Tremaine signed a 4 year/72AM contract with 50M guaranteed. I'll take Bernard over Tremaine any day of the week.
