Must be pretty good, some how one of the few left, is it just Montreal. Ottawa and Toronto left now under TSN radio.

Or it's the ones that have rights to NHL teams that are continuing on. Edmonton's TSN radio station didn't have the rights to the Oilers.

Simmer evolved during his time on 1200. Honest with his opinions and unlikely to sit on the fence related to anything Sens. Entertaining as well as being a community and mental health advocate.
Took some guts to open up like he did over the years.
I don't know the man but feel like I do after listening to him for so many years.
Taking this time to focus on the next stage of his career may be a blessing in disguise!

There's what...200 people that post here regularly? Maybe a little less? Last media report from Numeris that I could find listed TSN1200 as having a 2% share among any listeners 12+. That's 2% of total listeners, not 2% of the population of Ottawa-Gatineau. I don't know anyone who's both a fan of the team and a listener of the station. I don't know where you get the "massive amount of people" in the community with connections to the shows and hosts but it honestly sounds like you just made that up on the spot. And I don't even know what the relevance is to the listener ratings, which dictate budgets for radio stations.

JR does mornings with one of Lloyd or Creech (I am too lazy to check his name spelling)
the drive is AJ and Lloyd or creech

AJ does play by play for all,, Lloyd and creech do pre and post games.

Lee and JR would have darn near killed each other.
AJ is not getting up at 4 am.. and JR likes him
LLoyd is still connected with Sens alumni and Dono and JR likes him
Creech is young, probably makes peanuts.. hmms and haws as a teenage boy, so appeals to the young. Plus JR likes him...

You could have called this a mile away..

Bell may ask them to incorporate Hanna.. it meets DEI and gives her steady work..

CJ will continue to spot fill. The J brothers could be good together from time to time.

Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto only teams left with a station. So it’s either listeners and/or profitability.

With all the talent released by Bell in recent years, it wouldn't be hard to have multiple high quality Senators podcasts to replace an AM station that devotes what seems like a third of it's airtime to terrible advertisements.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Simmer, I thought his "insider" takes were all BS... but the station needs someone like him.

When the team does something to upset you and you need someone to vocalize your feelings, Simmer filled that role perfectly.

CAE (Once Canadian Aviation Electronics) in Montréal. 1993..

the Engineering department is as large as you can imagine.. 200-300 people in cubicles..

word starts buzzing.. Everyone of us stands up.. HR walks, goes over to a manager..they walk over to a cubicle and grab one.. We stood for 3 hours.. watching it happen over and over.. Like pigs waiting to be slaughtered.

it was the most disgusting thing ever.

It often amazes me how badly companies, private or public handle these things.. They don't wait until Friday afternoon Call people to a room.. ask them to stay past closing.. let them go then.. escort them back to their office/desk/cubicle and allow them to take their stuff.. no.. it must be pigs to the slaughter.

F'ng Bell could not do this Friday afternoon. Unreal how insensitive management people can be....

We have unions in the public sector where we don't need them and little unions in the private sector where we do!!!!!

I assumed that you were a Bell employee. Specifically associated with either TSN1200 or the TV side or some other Bell media.

so either you were and are not anymore.. or what the f*** was the attack on me for????

all I did was question the long term consequences of a diminishing medium... I assumed that I hit a nerve as you were concerned over your job and did not want discussions over the dying industry. I actually felt bad.. you came off worse than teachers defending their union and salaries..
