This coaching staff can not come back next season.

I can’t believe we traded for miller and now use Mika as a winger. Make him the third line center.

Jones is absolutely terrible

I can’t remember any plays laffy made at all this game.

The lines need to be switched up. Unfortunately I know next game it will remain the same. To me that is what makes this team this season so aggravating to watch

How did we need the goalie to bail us out? We were up 3-0 going into the third before the Predators put any pressure on us. If we did that down 3-0 in the third you'd be telling everyone how it was garbage time. Shesterkin faced like 20 shots against the Islanders. Seriously, why are the opinions on this board ALWAYS ALWAYS biased towards the negative? When we have a push in a blowout it doesn't matter it was a blowout, when the Preds do it our goalie bailed us out. I also don't know in what world is 20 shots on goal on Shesterkin is him bailing us out. It must be really tiring always viewing literally everything with a negative spin.
I had a lot of issues with you when you scrutinized Lundqvist. A lot. But, your criticism on Shesterkin is 100% warranted.

I don’t put a lot of perspective in shots/goals. I look at scoring opportunities. As much as I hate this current roster deployed by assclown Drury, this team is ahead of the Devils, and in playoff contention with Lundqvist as goalie versus the current version of Igor. Dude needs to get his shit together.

What will change next game is that Othmann or Berard will be scratched and Kreider will likely trade spots with Cuylle knowing this organization.

Look I 100% would agree that I have stick in the ass regarding goalies. And I probably have a hatred for Shesterkin not appropriate for an athlete. He's not a third world dictator executing political prisoners. He's just some guy playing a kid's game and asking to get paid as much as he can. That said, unfortunately I (and I'd venture to say a few people here) have an unhealthy obsession with this kid's game. And it REALLY rubs me the wrong way that he demanded to be paid more than any player has ever been paid at his position because the media (and frankly fans) decided to blow out of proportion one series against the Panthers that he lost and that included him giving up goals like this in the third period in a tied game:

And after he demanded to get paid what he did he didn't even have the decency to play above average at his position.

Drury is far from perfect, but the guy seems to have the ability to see the obvious problems that many past GMs just ignore or have blind spots for.
Drury’s an absolute idiot.

Goodrow signing. Trading for Reaves, then extending him, then waiving him. 3 year Nemeth signing only to move him a year later costing us a 2nd round pick. The Buch trade. What a horrendous display of immaculate horse-shit GM’ing.

Gallant. Laviolette. Those are Drury hires. If you have a problem with a coach, then you should have a bigger problem with the GM that hired him.

He’s been our GM for almost 4 full seasons. This isn’t Gorts/JD’s roster. This is Drury’s masterpiece of a complete shitshow.

all we need is one of the greatest goalies of all time and the best player in franchise history and we'd have a couple more wins?

2 decades of Hank has given this fanbase brainrot when it comes to what goalies are supposed to look like.

Not only that, he was handed a eastern conference final team and were losing to Columbus in a fight for a wildcard now after he put all of his "touches" on it.

So he saw the defense was bad, and got more bad defensemen....3d chess.
I mean would you rather have Trouba and Lindgren over Borgen and Vaakanainen? Are you mad that our scrubs didn't return superstars?

DeHaan is probably a fine bottom pairing/ 7D guy, and Soucy is a decent buy-low candidate. Both can be considered insurance policies, and cost very little to acquire.

I can see if you were railing on him for trading Kakko, or the whole saga of Reilly Smith, but I think he's done pretty well with the defense all things considered.

And as I said in another thread. There are only so many guys like Stralman out there. We haven't really had one since Stralman and it's more to do with the how few defensemen play like that than because of how shitty our FO is.

players are to blame but Drury deserves the lion share of it.

Was obvious the team wasn’t good enough last year and he literally did nothing to improve the team last summer. And his lack of action in the summer lead to him having to do open heart surgery on this years team mid season

He’s absolutely to blame here

We can thank that POS Trouba for this. Then he had the f***ing audacity of cry and whine on his way out.

The defense is not good. You don't move out bad to replace with more bad. The goal is to get better. Borgen has been fine but Vaak, DeHaan and Soucey aren't the answer.

No, it's not a joke. 5 goals is legit but that's based on the score being out of hand. But 2 expected goals is legit, some breakdowns on D and every f***ing chance went in. I like the fact that you have actual data but it must be the data that's wrong.

Those stats are absolute trash, about as usefull as toilet paper. They say Bj's 1st goal, the Justin Danforth goal should only go in 16/100? Lmao. Closer to 96/100. Like, how can anyone see that and defend them?

I respect you as a poster, having interacted with you enough, you know puck. I do believe a lot of this is kinda your shtick, (like edjovanosvki when it comes to certain players) partiuclarly with Igor but with goaltending as a whole.

You do when the bad your acquiring is younger and cheaper, and the only realistic option available in the real world.

If you think the defense is just as bad today as it was with Trouba and LIndgren, then you can at least appreciate the cap savings.

I'm ambivalent as hell on Drury, but didn't he take over at the end of '21? At that point the Rangers had been to a Conference Final since 14-15 so I'm not sure how he had one 'handed' to him if they'd basically not played in the playoffs for four seasons

I don't know what to tell you, a similar goal was 0.12 fror Kreider. So if it's off it's off in both directions.

I like how the caps went from a team in no mans land to a top team after they got rid of obese pete but here we are f***ing ourselves with the same retread. The Fat Boys Club mentality needs to change. We can’t bring in retirement prone coaches because of their legacy just to be an enabler. How does anyone have any respect for a leader when they’re this unfit? I don’t care if you’re a manager at a CVS, you have to show up looking regal and behave like a classy person. Generous, tolerant, doesn’t hold grudges. I personally judge every friend and coworker when I see them stuff themselves full of food at a buffet or when they order food delivery for themselves at their own house gathering and it’s a main course and two full appetizers. You lose respect watching a fat person warfph down a pad thai, a chicken thai red curry and two spring rolls that aren’t even thai and then try to explain the meal as cheaper because you ordered more per delivery. We need to bring in someone dignified and inspires confidence and demands respect with their presence. Someone who doesn’t eat fried foods and instead grabs an omelette at the omelette station and eats it with a yogurt and black coffee and pretend it satisfied them. Someone who has the self control and self care of their image to not purposefully walk by the boxes of pastries on the table and pretend like they barely saw the pastries in the corner of their eye while they walked past them and decided to have one even though they helped themselves to one 5 minutes ago and knew full well what they were doing walking pass the table.

The team just blows and it's a tough pill to swallow because of their record last year. Mostly everyone has regressed. Cuylle and Rempe are probably the only guys who look better this year than last.

Quick was not good tonight. Some of the goals he let in he should’ve had, that being said…

Laviolette has to go. It’s not all his fault, but he shares a lot of blame at this point. Also I understand Drury wanting a harder working team, and agree with that mission statement, but you still need talented players.

The young players not blossoming completely set this franchise back a decade. Kakko is gone, and the ones that remain look completely lost. Watching other teams young players and then watching Lafreniere fumble the puck constantly is embarrassing.
