Blame HSL for the horrible draft pick.Well well well, how the turn tables
I've thought about this, too. Obviously it's nice to not have to worry, because the Pens won 3 Cups. But I think Hossa is the most under-appreciated player I've watched in my lifetime. He was a BEAST all over the ice. I think he should have won a Selke. Guy just had insanely high hockey IQ. Could shoot, pass, and skate with the best of them, too. Shame we never got to see a prolonged period of Sid/Hoss together.
We can't handle Letang flossin.Letang is dripless
The 4 Nations team ran by Sully and Guerin… I thought he was Sullys pet!!!Elliotte Friedman said on the most recent episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast that Rust should have been selected for the four nations team. Rusty has been good lately but I don't know if I totally agree with that but it would have been neat to see.
I'm just gonna repeat that Rust is 32, also. That may appear to be a spring chicken on this team, but most guys aren't as good at 32 as they were at 25-27.The 4 Nations team ran by Sully and Guerin… I thought he was Sullys pet!!!
I don’t know either but I do think he deserves to be in the discussion.
I think what gets lost with being overly harsh on guys like Rust (not saying that he’s amazing) is that sure they wouldn’t be super useful without playing next to a star center.. but there’s a lot of star centers in the league. And honestly there’s quite a few more dynamic than aging Sid and Geno. He could do this on a lot of teams.

Okay. They're mid too.Exactly. Acting as though the guy is a creation of his centers - we are not talking the 2013-2014 versions of his centers here. They are adequate as far as top 6 centers go. One may even say "mid."

As a Canadian, I’d love it.Elliotte Friedman said on the most recent episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast that Rust should have been selected for the four nations team. Rusty has been good lately but I don't know if I totally agree with that but it would have been neat to see.
He gets in the right spots and has been taking advantage of some great play from 87 and Ricky. But I think the days of him skating from his own blueline with a quick give and go are over 5v5.I'm just gonna repeat that Rust is 32, also. That may appear to be a spring chicken on this team, but most guys aren't as good at 32 as they were at 25-27.
