We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.
What This Means for You:
- If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
- If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
- Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
- Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress
Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

What a disastrous couple of days. Looks like a lot of stuff from the site was lost.
I wasn't sure if the site was gonna be restored in any fashion at one point.
The lack of communication was really bad. Should have been some Tweets about the situation.

Almost 2 days to get up and working, still working on getting the kinks out. I could be wrong but it seems this was rolled out without much testing.
The assumption was people wouldn’t join until it was ready. Doubt they anticipated us idiots constantly refreshing to get in the moment it was up
I've been on this site for 15 years—how is it possible that we're worse off now than when I first joined?
Sounds like something blindsided us from the hosting end, based on my (very) limited understanding on what the downtime messages meant.
I've been on HF for 12 and a half years and this is the most poorly implemented update yet. It's almost impressive.

A year's worth of users being erased is pretty messed up ngl.

Taking this out on the mods isn't gonna be productive, helpful or useful guys. It sounds to me like a 3rd party messed this up and dropped the ball. Mods are janitors. They give warnings, lock threads if necessary, ban trolls, spam artists and sickos as the offense calls for it.
