Detroit wins both games against the Habs they're in.

Rangers win tonight, their last game, they clinch the president's trophy.

Boston, Ottawa's next game opponent will be playing to stay 1st in the Atlantic.

Ottawa might be motivated to win against Boston as that will almost certainly be Martin's last game in the NHL.

Some possibilities.
Does anyone even care about the president's trophy anymore?
Winning the Atlantic may turn out to be a curse for Boston.

I have no idea what is likely to happen.
What I do know is Arizona need to gain another point and we need to lose at least once.

If MTL loses in regulation tonight, then it won't matter what OTT does tonight or tomorrow as MTL won't be able to pass them. OTT sits at 76 pts. MTL at 74. If MTL loses in regulation tonight, even if they win tomorrow, they'll finish with 76 pts, and OTT has the tie-breaker with more RWs.
Washington and Detroit go 1 and 1 with Philly winning all No OT and we have three teams at 89 points.
The worst ever wildcard points total in modern day history. :sarcasm:
I can just see this happening.

The good thing about Habs playing Detroit is because they are fighting for their playoff lives, so they should come out guns blazing. It won't be a case of resting players because they're already in.

If Wings let Habs get them, then they won't deserve to make the playoffs.

That's what I also hope, that they'll fight, cause at this point I suppose they know the Habs, while a bottom team, still are a pain in the ass to a good number of teams in the NHL.

Like you said, if they can't go through us, they won't deserve much into the playoffs. (and I want that 28th place)

Habs can enjoy playing spoilers. But it's on the Wings to bring it and show they belong to be the team who wins the Wild Card race.

And Wings have no choice but to win because between Wings, Pens, Caps, and Flyers, Wings have the least RWs. So they can't even tie any of the other teams in points.

Loss tonight, f***ing crush them tomorrow

Outside of the Islanders none of those teams can afford to lose one game. There's so many horses in the race that at least one will win two games. And anyway you don't want to enter the playoffs from the backdoor. We have been there and we have done that. You want to enter from the front door by winning the last two games.

If Montreal wins tonight, pretty much killing DET's playoffs dream, it's going to burst their bubble and I could see them falling apart on the last game, with MTL ending with the 2 wins. That would be a disaster but wouldn't surprise me with this f***ing team.

A disaster would have been passing Arizona, Ottawa and Calgary. They can't catch Calgary now and it's looking good to not pass Ottawa.

A #1, a #5 and a #6 is not the worst thing in the world, friends.

So, we need a regulation loss tonight, which I feel is definitely attainable... Detroit should be absolutely firing on all cylinders.

I'm feeling less stressed atm due to 8th being out of reach. I mean, I'll no doubt be as stressed as always, come the 3rd period when we are inevitably with in one goal (one way or another) of our ultimate goal lol... but I accepted 5-7 a long time ago.. so it'll be easier to get over if we do end up winning both games... at least I'm telling myself that.

that said ... please just lose in regulation!!!

Regulation loss please. I'll be at the game tomorrow and I'd like to cheer for the Habs. Can't say that I'm overly confident in Detroit though.

If the Sens can manage to win tonight would be perfect, although unlikely as they play at the MSG and the Rangers can clinch the President Trophy with a win. If this happens, hopefully the Bruins can beat the Caps and rest their key players for their game against the Sens tomorrow.

As for the Coyotes, they should also face an Oilers team resting some key players as they will in all likeliness have nothing to play for, especially if Vancouver wins against Calgary tomorrow.

We should be able to afford 1 win, hopefully it's tomorrow and the Wings season is still on the line.
