Nope, we can definitely catch Ottawa, but we need 3 points to do so & they need to lose both their final games.

If we beat Detroit tomorrow, we move into 6th & are tied with Ottawa (assuming Ottawa also loses tomorrow).

If we get one point against Detroit, we stay in 5th & move into a tie with Arizona.

It then comes down to game 82.

Sorry, yeah, if we lose, we clinch 6th.

We clinched 7th tonight with the Calgary win.

Even if that was true 2 aholes behind us could win the lottery and 5th becomes 7th which is why it is ALWAYS better to finish as low as possible.

Rangers win tonight, their last game, they clinch the president's trophy.

Boston, Ottawa's next game opponent will be playing to stay 1st in the Atlantic.

Ottawa might be motivated to win against Boston as that will almost certainly be Martin's last game in the NHL.
