Definitely didn't like the way that App St played the end of that game. Hopefully the Vols struggle like that or worse in Bristol.

Damn it! Gave it to them. Just gave that one away.

I also missed everything up until halfway through the 3rd because my flight was delayed, so I didn't see any of the fun stuff. All I saw were missed opportunities, way too many runs up the middle, and terrible clock management in the last two minutes that cost us a chance at a FG we shouldn't have needed. Still, I thought we'd be able to pull it out until they recovered that fumble in the endzone.

shame a missed PAT is what ended up deciding that game

and the poor clock management in the 4th quarter

and 3 lucky fumble recoveries

RIP app state

That was such a let down. What a pathetic performance by the offense and special teams. Just garbage. I thought this year it'd be Dobbs and co. bailing out the D, but just the opposite. Dobbs still has the same problems as last year.

We're just lucky App State isn't Power 5 team. You could tell that their high was dwindling and they were getting worn down at the end. I really don't think they blew it; you can't go 200% on pure adrenaline against guys bigger/faster for that long.

Doesn't matter though; Win or Lose the opener with App State is just a pre-season game. In fact every game outside of Sept 24 and Oct 15 is a pre-season game. Thank god the annual Tennessee Egg happened now though. Usually they quietly get it together after the hype gets shot down. I can only hope that happens this year too.

that hit on the goal line in overtime was amazing aside from the fact that the guy fumbled the ball into the end zone rofl

That hit would have been so much more enjoyable if it weren't for what happened immediately after that. The guy got stapled.

I had a bad feeling as soon as they recovered it. Our drives were stalling throughout the second half. I just knew we weren't going to be able to convert in overtime.

1-0

More importantly the defense looks pretty ****ing legit, and that was by far the biggest concern heading in to the season.

Nah, Howard's inconsistent but capable of being an absolutely explosive QB. He's no Clint Trickett or Geno Smith but he would probably be a 2nd or 3rd team all-conference guy in most other conferences. Just not the pass-happy Big 12.

I have no idea how good or bad Mizzou is supposed to be this year, but nicely done Daves Mountaineers.

4 years later and I still cannot get used to seeing Texas A&M and Mizzou in the SEC.

For the SEC East, middle of the pack, but that doesn't mean much in the big picture as that's usually the weaker side of the board in the SEC (sorry GP).

I'll wait to see on the Red Zone offense for us. Mizzou is usually a strong defensive team and we put up 26 on them winning easily. But that said the game easily could have had WVU putting up 35+ if they could put the ball in effectively.

BYU at the end of the month is going to be a pretty telling game.
