Colby Armstrong said he's never seen Sidney Crosby turn down a kid wanting an autograph. When you consider the demands and asks that Crosby gets, that's really impressive and says a lot about his character.

it was a reference to when Ryan O'Byrne then with the Habs playing in Tampa allegedly took some ladies purse to get her phone to ensure some photos were deleted.
Zero to do with O’Byrne.

Here is the story for those not aware.

No one cares
When I was younger, maybe junior high, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. So when there i am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece and who walks in but Gary Bettman.
I was nervous as f***, and just kept looking at him, as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother Gary, but she wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Gary put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.
This is the funniest thing I ever read on HF boards. You really set that up well.

Mats Zuccarello is good friends with many players and does stuff for charities. Chris Kreider seems like a great guy as well.

Speaking only of my team, like others said, active, boeser. Sedins were and are 2 gem human beings, humble and always willing to take time out for everyone, giving of time and funds to charities. On the flip side, cliff ronning was a pos lol

Never met an NHL player who wasn't at least friendly, 30 years in hospitality industry. Then again, never met Avery.

Dennis Savard, Steve Larmer, Stan Mikita, Chris Chelios in no particular order I have had a drink with or caddied for or had a mutual acquaintance and spent some time with. All of them fun good hearted people.
Larmer must be one of the least sunny personalities I've encountered in hockey.

I've had really good interactions with Bruce Boudreau and Holtby in random casual encounters. But honestly I suspect most NHL players are good people, close to regular joes, have their good days and bad.

Related to the Letang story, Brooks Laich earned his 'Nice Guy' badge in 2010. The season the Caps won the Presidents Trophy but got Halaked in the playoffs, driving home after the game 7 loss Laich stopped, in his suit, to help two women (Caps fans, wearing team gear having just come from the game) change their flat tire.

I've driven that stretch of road dozens of times, I can't imagine trying to change a tire on the side of the road, cars come too quickly and the shoulder at the time was near non-existent.
