My negative comment ... I DIDN'T WIN TWO JERSEYS THIS PLAYOFFS!!!!! :p:

Seriously, good season ... disappointing end. I'll get the shirt when I get the shirt ... I have enough to pack by the end of the month when I move to Kansas.

Disappointing end to a roller-coaster season.... but with our very young team and Poile's gutsy call to let the Vets go and play the kids - it's been an exciting year for sure.

My negative - in the POs your best players have to be your best players. For us, that starts with the big 3, then probably Erat and Rads. Only 1 of those guys put out the effort to be our best the whole series - Marty is easily our most under-appreciated player. But - we also saw the maturing of Mr. CWilson; 2 very good games and pretty good one; we coulda' used your head outta' your rear-end a few games sooner, Colin.

Overall, a very disappointing season to me. In the beginning of the year (probably a month before), I told everyone I knew that the Preds would go to the WCF. Everyone laughed and thought that was dumb, but I knew this team had so much talent and losing the likes of Sullivan, Dumont, Ward, Goc, etc. did nothing to me talent wise (great guys love to cheer for them, just didn't do much for me ON the ice). In the November-December days, we looked lost. We brought in everyone from the Ads just to try to find something that worked (I never want to see Zack Stortini touch the ice for us ever again). However, I still held strong, as did the team. We found some chemistry and started to really roll. Poile and Trotz had me sold, AND THEN we had a nice haul at the deadline giving up draft picks for some really solid PLAYOFF help. And then Radulov.....wow, I was sold 110 percent then. It was Cup or bust......

Got to the playoffs, won some close ones (some we probably shouldn't have....sound familiar?) and beat Detroit in 5 games!! This team was different. This team had the intangibles and the "it" factor.

My mood was tempered when I saw we would play Phoenix. They play the same d**n style we do, and we always seem to struggle against them....but no matter THIS team was different. We had it all. Lost game one in OT...no big luck goal we got this...Murdered in game 2, now I'm Mr. Negative. I have a day to relax and let it set and said the hell with it, we are winning this series. Pick it up and win game 3 (even with the fiasco of the Russians). YES ITS TIME! Go into game 4, and air let out of my g** d*** sails. YOU KIDDING ME?!?! I'm ranting on the way home about how this team does nothing and how it will be another letdown. Call my GF a couple of names.....have a day to think, say "okay, we win game 5, send it back home and then its back to work".....NO!!!! Series over! This is the best team we have ever assembled in our history (on par with the 2006 Preds, but I didn't think we had a shot like THIS year) and now the daunting look at what lies ahead makes me the most POed person in the world.

Will we get better? We will lose a lot of pieces AGAIN this offseason so what really excites me about next year? Unless you are the Wings, playoffs don't happen EVERY year. We have overachieved so many years, we cannot keep playing Russian Roulette with this team. We HAVE TO CAPITALIZE ON THE TIMES NOW NOT LATER because it is never promised. On one end, we could get some more young talent in here, our ownership group actually DOES go out and spend some money, we get Webs back, and have a full, top to bottom solid team that has a chance to win the Central and take it. Flip side, we lose Suter, AK, SK, Rads, etc. keep the youth movement, have Webs play out his RFA contract, get some injuries, another 1st round exit, lose Webs next year, rebuild. Uncertainty is the worst for me and I'm not liking what I think will happen to this team. I've been wrong before, but maybe I'm not.

Overall, I'm angry.

This offseason is going to be very heartwrenching, just how bad is yet to be seen.

Between the 2 contract fiascos, (shea & the young poile faxing snafu) bringing in something called a bergfors, and the most horrible of all-Wade's death, you wouldn't think anything could match the summer of 2011, but just hang on...........:scared:

Weber/Suter aren't going to re-sign here. I don't see the cycle of coaching our draft picks up and then them leaving changing anytime soon unfortunately. Hopefully the young youngsters can fill in again, until they become to good for the Preds anyway...

Win a faceoff, they said.

All in all, that was still a season lightyears better than what I'm used to seeing with the Thrashers.

The way Suter was botching plays left right and center, I have no problem in waiving him bye bye. He may have had a good season point wise, but his play down the stretch leaves me thinking this guy is not worth the money he wants. Uninspired is the term I'd use. So frustrated with him.

Can I resurrect this thread? After all, this offseason looks to be rather brutal. And we can keep all the griping about Poile etc in one tidy place and not have it mess up other threads

I have watched Chicago, Detroit and now St. Louis tonight. They all look in mid season form in already. We are going to get killed in the division if we can't get it together soon.

No doubt about Chicago and St Louis- they may be the 2 best teams in the whole league. But Detroit is 2-2-1 with a -5 goal differential- I would hardly call that mid-season form- they aren't even close to the same level as Chi and STL.

Agreed. And I think some of Detroit's pure skill (whatever they have left, still quite a bit) can mask a lot of their deficiencies. They're always a well-oiled machine, but that doesn't mean they're a really good team right now.

yepp but they are better than us. gonna be hard to make it to the playoffs with such a short season. especially playing in the central and having to play them so much. chicago and stl look top notch right now. every game against the blues, i already have us losing.

Well considering we almost lost an entire season, I'll take a loss as long as it's not like it was at Stl. That was pathetic. As long as they're busting their *****, I'll be happy. I hear this years draft is a good one. Might be a good time to miss the playoffs and avoid stl or chi in the 1st round anyways.

I want us to go 1-1-46 to set a new record never to be broken and looked upon with awe, in a "you've won one game and still had more points than Toronto (and maybe get into playoffs)" :/

Or tank the year and get a good offensive player like MacKinnon.

you know the NHL will never allow us to get that kid ... case in point OUR inaugural draft (we had to trade up to get Legwand - we were the only expansion team that year)

Somehow that is oddly understandable. I don't like it, but I can definitely see how that would be the case.

Being a Preds fan in Canada is awkward sometimes because some people don't even know they are a hockey team.
