I check this thread every day. I like it, but I’m amazed at never any Ozzy, Iron Maiden, G ‘N R, Crue, Motörhead, etc. I don’t mind some of the stuff you guys like, I’m just surprised.

I remember in High School when there were so many fans of Journey, Men at Work, Duran Duran, Culture Club, etc. I wasn’t really a fan of any of that. The group of us who liked metal was much smaller, but we were way more into it than the fans of Huey Lewis, etc. I guess it’s the same here.
Have you posted some of your stuff on here? I may not "love" the genre but will always "like" your posts for joining in.

Got Covid again. Hasn't been a good run the last couple of years but as long as the B's are on one it helps a ton.

I am heading there too. I leave very early on Dec 11th to meet my daughter in Seattle. After that game we are taking the train to Vancouver. I love trains.

Through the auspices of my great friend Joe, I too have grown to appreciate their charms.

Are you going to catch the Bruins-Canucks game together?

Merry Christmas,

✌️❄️🎄

PS To be honest I have no use for much of the heavy metal genre. Not my thing.

However, I appreciate two of its progenitors, Sabbath and Zepp. I've never heard Moby Grape or Strawberry Alarm Clock, but may ✅.

I'm sure you know this and I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but if you love metal, you might investigate it's basic source, white electric guitar blues.

John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers,

Cream,

And doubtless a host of others of whom I remain ignorant.

As to the former, I hope you two booked private accommodations. Truly, the only way to ride the rails.

(I have never once traveled first class by air. Coach for the Frugal Flyer. Happily, little need to suffer the many indignities of what long ago became the hell of "flying the friendly skies." If you aren't a misanthrope when stepping aboard, you will be upon alighting.)

Lovely you will be together for the holidays. Have a fabulous time.

Regarding the latter, as Picard said to Riker: "To each their own, Number One."

Safe travels and enjoy responsibly,

🎄✌️❄️

Duuuuuh, my intelligence is not insulted. :dunce:
Helter Skelter is often referred to as the first heavy metal song. I have to agree. Ozzy is definitely the Godfather of heavy metal. I don’t post “my stuff” here simply because I’m the only one who likes it here which is what I was comparing to the small group of us in high school who liked Ozzy, VH, etc and not Toto, etc. I listen to a LOT of what’s posted in here even though it’s not my cup of meat.

A good cup of meat is hard to find.

Post bits from some of your favorite metal bands.

I'm actually trying to find a song called "Black Metal," though to my knowledge it was not recorded by a metal band. 2000s/aughts.

Any information or insight appreciated.

Keep posting, and thank you for your contributions,

✌️❄️

I thought sure you would catch the “cup of meat” quote from Bob Dylan’s Quinn The Eskimo. I became familiar with Dylan when the Beatles said they admired and were influenced by him. Ozzy, in turn was influenced by the Beatles. Then again, I think everyone was influenced and inspired by them.
