Does Mitch seem different since coming back from the 4 Nations?

How can this management not understand that before TDL you ask Marner to shit or get off the pot. What is the number. If the number gets a no, let the boy go! If he doesn't want to waive just share what negotiations with him are like with peers. Do Ferris leaks, toss the season in the bin and figure it out.
Should have been done months ago, instead they give him the most minutes and allow him to pad his stats and demand more money. The management team is a bigger loser than the core. Vegas would have punted his ass out of here months ago.

Can't argue with that.

Yea one each.
So turns out, the thing people were yelling would erase all possibility of a cup, didn't erase all possibility of a cup. And that's not even counting the additional players that were making between 9-10m, or the wasted cap. Turns out, those 10m players were actually pretty darn important to their cup win.

And now that you were wrong, you shift the goalposts to other meaningless criteria, and pretend that prevents all possibility of a cup.
Then 4 years from now leafs will be one of 2 teams with 14+ million and then rebuild starts.
It's crazy that you can see the future and you waste it on this.
Marner and Matthews aren't Draisaitl and McDavid.
No, but they're a lot closer than you'll ever admit.

Note Vegas and Florida win the cup the past 2 years:

Here is my post, you show me where I said recent teams didn't have a 10 million dollar player.

It was shown a couple years ago that no team with a player with 10 million has ever won the cup.

Did I foresee the future? Did I time travel? Lol

Aren't you always complaining about others misrepresenting your words? Tsk quite the hypocrite.

In 2023 Vegas was 9 million over the cap.

Last year Panthers won, but the cap had gone up 5.5 million since it was pointed out that teams with 10 million dollar players weren't winning.

So.. you think leafs are gonna win the cup being the only team with two 12+ million players and one 11.6 million player - Now that a couple teams with one player making exactly 10 million won?
Sounds very logical to me.

Hahaha I know. 👍

Ive noticed that since coming back from 4nations he's turned up the volume on the fancy stuff.
Ya, I’m not here bashing or on a MM witch hunt. He’s a great player.

He just sometimes can’t play simple, hard and high percentage hockey.

Agreed. The very very few times he's gone to the net this year, he's actually been rewarded. Just can't get him to play a simple, typical style. Look at Crosby, Mcd and Mackinnon at 4 nations... none of that fancy stuff...always low in the zone and always around the net after a shot.

I didn't say that you said in your post that recent teams didn't have a 10m dollar player. I pointed out that that argument you were referencing ended up being wrong. Though for the record, bringing up a claim, saying that it was proven a couple years ago, and not mentioning that it was disproven over the past 2 years is pretty misleading.

People tried to set criteria for what could not exist on a cup winning team, and then those exact things won multiple cups. And then that hard line rule turns into excuses, and now here you are again trying to arbitrarily claim the criteria of a cup winning team.

Teams of all different configurations can and do win. It's not going to come down to us paying better players an extra percent or two more than worse players. Our cup chances are much more damaged by losing a Matthews or a Marner than they are by having two 13m players. And just as the cap rose to make 10m more common, the cap will rise to make 13m more common.

And for the record, the "seeing the future" comment was in response to you making this claim: "Then 4 years from now leafs will be one of 2 teams with 14+ million and then rebuild starts."

Behind the scenes I wouldn’t be surprised if they were a lot more aligned and closer to a deal than you’d think.
