Loved the Bruin video tribute to Scott Young.

I know quite a bit about Neil :). I had a chance to meet Neil through his brother Bob in Halifax. Bob Young was a good friend of a friend. Bob secured two front row tickets and chance to visit Neil after the concert. Unfortunately Bob wasn't able to join us. Doesn't matter concert was unbelievable and where I first saw Wilco.

I've watched Neil Live in Toronto X2, Buffalo, and Halifax.

Favorite albums:

Live Rust (it was my introduction to Neil via my sisters)
Tonight's the Night
On the Beach
Rust Never Sleeps
After the Gold Rush

Honourable mentions - Silver and Gold, Trans and biography called Shakey
I had no idea Neil had a brother.

I was going to ask if anyone had read Shakey.

On a lighter note, David Crosby -- and I am a huge Byrds fan -- continues to be David Crosby. I don't know if he has anyone left to alienate.

These are the kind of things I used to talk about with my brother Greg.

In the event, keep keepin' on,

I always liked Time Fades Away. My eldest brother Greg, who died last year, was a huge Neil fan and that's how I became a fan. We saw him here (that place which remnds of Pine Knob in MI, the outdoor venue) in '89.

Favorite albums:

Tonight's the Night
Zuma
On the Beach
Rust Never Sleeps
After the Gold Rush
Comes a Time

Honorable Mention, because they have their moments and it's Neil being Neil (like Bowie being Bowie, in a very different way),

Trans/Everybody's Rockin'/This Note's For You,

(Just hit YouTube)

BTW, I'm sure you guys know Neil's dad was Scott Young, the sports writer,

Very surprised that Everybody Knows This is Nowhere didn’t make your top 6. That’s one of my favorites…..Give it a try if you haven’t spun it in a while.

Good stuff...

Bob Young almost made it to PGA but drugs were more important at the time.

I forgot about that one, that's his second solo album I believe. Good record.

Never a great Stephen stills fan. Never liked Crosby stills and Nash. Too soft. Neil fixed that for them,

Feels like 1965 again with my five older Brothers going toe to toe about who was better Beatles or the Stones. I was the goofy kid brother who was into the Animals and Yardbirds, harder and rawer sound. Now it's all good 'cause their all good.

Neil was more a lead player, Stills a picker. But he learned that from two of the best.

Stephen Stills opens up about his friendship with Jimi Hendrix

One of my all time favorite Dylan covers from one of my all time albums

Realize I come late to the thread, and don't mean to be presumptuous.

If I may, some bits:

Karl Walinger, late of the Waterboys, formed World Party, and this one speaks what it spoke, clearly, in 1987. Listen well,

Just hit "YouTube,"

Neko Case. And yes, they do,

This song was written, in round about fashion, about the US invasion of Iraq, and one man's project to help returning veterans. Released in August, 2004, brave for its time,

Family of the Year. One hit wonder. Lovely,

Enjoy your Labor Day, Americans.

Canadians, we'll see you soon.

Fenway's thread about the 72 Summit Series and the feel of fall in the morning air make me think of the title of this song and this line in it

"Yesterday is dead but not my memory'
