I have no idea how I missed this song for all of these years, but I just discovered it, and it is fantastic.

Dokken is one of the most underrated and under appreciated heavy metal/hard rock bands of the 1980s when it was their sound that influenced bands like Skid Row into becoming popular after George Lynch's personal animosity towards Don Dokken ripped the band apart. Had Lynch not torpedoed the band, Dokken wouldn't be a footnote and would be held in the same respect as bands like Priest, Motorhead, Metallica, Maiden, and Guns N Roses.

Mr. Scary is still one of my all-time favorite tunes. A staple of long rides in the truck for me.

I'm not a big metal guy, but Accept (with Udo) were f***ing heavy as shit and really, really different from the hair pop metal of the day.

some of the posturing in the video is cliche, but the vocals - so, so different.

Not a metal person myself. I suppose it's sacrilege to say I never thought much of Metalica, speed metal, etc., never mind the hair bands.

But hey, vanilla & chocolate.

I always felt this song should have been much more popular than it is. Maybe it was because they didn't have a "major" record company behind it.
